That's the wonderful thing about some computer game features. They can be optional toggles so that those who like auto loot distribution can get it. Those who don't can have that feature off.

See I play MMORPG's instead of pen and pencil games because I like what the computer can do for me. By all means, make it an option if there are those who don't like it.

There seems to be a very persistent theme on these boards. Don't change anything, if somebody wants something different, tell them what's wrong with their opinion. Very little attempt to see if there is a way to satisfy both camps. I really don't understand this, but what the heck. I'm good at swimming upstream.

There's plenty of things that you will get unanimous support for when it comes to changing aspects of the game.

But as Ryzom has survived for 2 years without a forced shared looting system, its not something the majority of people think is necesary.

If you call bankruptcy court surviving. In any case one could use the two year argument against any change proposal at all. So you seem to be saying don't bother asking for anything. I'm just wondering why argue against an idea that some people do like, makes the game more team friendly, and doesn't have to be used by those who don't like it.

How dose an auto loot system make the game more team friendly? IMO an auto loot system just covers up ninja looters, greedy people, and group leeches. Being an adult about loots IMHO is what makes a game more team friendly. :D You just designate one or two players to loot and then split the loot evenly between the team at the end of the hunt.

I don't think the issue is that we don't want anything new, but moreso that people have their own priorities for what they think should be the next new feature/addition. For example, I would like a river in the Witherings like the lore (used to) mention(s) before auto-loot ;)

I've played with many perfectly reasonable and fair minded adults who can still get a bit worked up over perceived problems with loot distribution. An automatic system completely removes that issue, and lets the same group of people just relax and enjoy playing. I don't want to spend time trying to find perfect people to play with, I just want to minimize tensions between those people I do wind up playing with.

I agree with Sashtan, most of the time I dont WANT loot, so an Auto loot function would need an 'opt-out' function, too

I am comfortable with the current system, it makes things interesting when you get added by a swarm of great Kirostas, and you are locked up in a loot window.. kinda realistic in a way :p

QFT.

Funny how you bring up the bankruptcy...because we all know if we add an auto-loot system, it'll make it go away.

Honestly, if you read throughout past threads, you'll see that we have asked for alot of others things which would benefit the game alot more than some auto-loot system.
