I receive this message everytime. I am using a dell laptop with a pentium 4 duo core proc. I reviewed the other display problem and tried to fix it that way, but it didn't seem to work for me. Is there any hope?

What video card do you have?
If it is Intel then you will need to force OpenGL mode and most likely disable the majority of the advanced display options.

Hey, I have the same card on a VaioTX790. I've got the same video card. I've gone to GLmode and set the options to off. I'm still getting the message. Is there something else wrong?
Re: Cannot display window (1024x768, 32 bit)
my cpu should be able to run it, but I lowered everything to minimum, and now I'm getting some memory error
Re: Cannot display window (1024x768, 32 bit)
I too have gone ahead and minimized all requirements and am getting the same error message?!
My sys info:
Laptop
Pentium 4 (2G)
Intel Graphics 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics controller
Indeo Video 5.10 controller
I'm not great at managing to figure out all the requirements, but this is a fairly new computer, I'm really upset that Ryzom isn't able to run on it. Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks.

Hi
It's not the age of your young computer that matters here...it's the age and conception of your integrated graphics chip. It was designed for lashing out some graphics into a 2D working environment some time ago and does have trouble with advanced 3D mechanisms. No need to be upset about that, that's how the hardware industry has a reason to develop newer and better stuff
Still, there's hope for you
Please have a look at this thread, it's a sticky here, btw.
Good luck and have fun on Atys

Re: Cannot display window (1024x768, 32 bit)
Intel integrated video chips are not made for graphics intensive game like Ryzom. Some of the later intel gfx chip like 915/945 are okay but not stellar. I guess the 855 is just too low end to be able to even boot Ryzom.
