Feedback on invasion: To keep n to improve

Post by gillest »

There is already a thread for us to comment on the invasion itself but is more orientated toward "Like/Dont like" it.

As I will not be able to participate to the last few days: lucky me got to go see the sea, I would like to give my feedback on things I found good about this event and things that could be improved.

Good stuff to keep for next event

- Stackable coins with no bulk: makes it very handy when you are miles away :)

- Cats and flowers: Thanks for that for players which are not in OP guild and even for new players: gave away all my cats 50 and 100 I get from invasion, so new players who had hard time participating can get some dble xp after its over.

- Blueish kitins: personnally loved it, imagined it like they were coming from very very deep (same color as some fishes at the bottom of the ocean: nicely done).

- Been able to give all coins at once (remember the hours spent clicking during last event to buy 1000's 10 by 10 lol)

- Titles are a nice idea and at least they don't wear out as the previous event weapons did.

- Groups of 3 kitins moving together: so funny to slaughter them with circular attack.

- Slow respawn: make it really alive instead of the basic pop after 10 seconds and permitted us to roam entire regions where we havent been for ages just to look for the last one grp of the map.

- Same rewards (coins for all regions) but more per kill for higher lvl region which makes perfectly sense as one need a team to kill there.

To be improved

- Announcement by NPC= terrible: even tho I am not in favor for a official announcement before the event, i found the speech of the watcher a little short of imagination: "kitins come, go kill.." "go Kill, give coins..." : did they hire Jones Rambo as script writer or what????
From what i remember of the invasion of 2 years ago, we had a little opening speech from the watcher at the time, explaining a few things, requesting help, promissing rewards... (detailling what rewards were ...).

- Still about Npc: would have been nice for him to say how much we were suppose to give for the next title: maybe there was one NPC speaking about that but I only found the "gimme coins"'s watcher (thx rambo :) ).

- Rewards: Title are nice tho I have been missing the event weapon from last time: this was real good as there was different quality weapons for all lvl players and the lesser qualities need less coins-claws; should have been kept imo.

- Region repartition: Around Yrk, I agree with new players, it would have been a good idea to have solo kitins or grp of 2 and some grp of 3: solo kitins would have been easier for new players and at the same time would have been harder for high lvl players to farm, hence more to kill for new players...

- Coins repartition: having more coins in area needing a team was good but the repartition should have been higher for higher lvl regions: mobs take longer to kill for high lvl peeps and need a team, hence sharing so less productivity of coins/hour for high lvl people than farming in area 50...Doubling the coin each for each area was not enough as the number of person inteam had to increase at same rate so no advantage of going to areas 250...

- too much farming due to not enough movement of the kitin troops in the same region and only very few bosses (I discovered on forums that there was a boss and I did wander through at least 4 regions: wandered like rampaged every angle of it lol)... This made is a little repetitive and not enough competitive and also did not create enough the need for teaming hence the feeling of being left behind of new players...
Last invasion, some bosses were apwning inside of towns like Natae and region chat was over active from players calling for forces to rally to there and fight: I have been missing that :)

- No kitin hole in the scenario this time: they've been teleported by evil yubos?
This did not made it as realistic as last invasion..

Anyway just to say again, I enjoyed it very much as I have always enjoyed all events involving kitins coming out of the roots..
Just giving my feedback hoping the next one will be even better...
Hoping as well it will not be in like 2 years time :)

Edited and added after invasion:
BIG NO-NO
Apparently i missed the exterminators but I can easily understand what happened seeing the state of the Bazaar forums now..... everybody selling exterminators coins for title ...... This is aweful: you have ways to change that: you know how to share xp in Fights, you have ability to give mission items directly in player inventory: mix the two and make players (grps which fighted to get those pieces so all who fight will have this shameful trade-selling of rewards can stop.....

Or just sell the titles for dappers, that would be exactly the same :(
-------------
Please use this thread for feedback on what you would like to be kept and what you would like to be improved, there is another thread to state what you think of the invasion itself :)

Hope you guys will have fun for the last few days :)

perhaps more time than just 1 week ? not all of us spend 20hrs per day IG and have to go to work/school makes it difficult to gather up 1900 pieces of kitin :)

It would be nice to have some sort of crafting or foraging task in a invasion instead of just bashing.

This invasion was widespread and not very suitable for anything like that, but in a future event this would be a cool addition :)

I like the event, getting a title (which is a really nice reward if the titles are unique for this event) and seeing lots of people team up to hunt. Nevrax did listen to the voices asking for more PVE, this is great for the community at large.

However, I've noticed some digger-focused people are staying away. Previous invasions took them into account I think? It was before my days though.

I don't think it was a good idea to use that particular item icon (an amber circle). It does look like a coin, which is perhaps why some people have taken to calling the pieces "coins" when they are actually chitin fragments(?).

5900 kitin parts to get the 5th title is way out of reach for most. Anyone that has a job and sleeps a little will find this next to impossable.

(based on experience on Cho)

On the cats side it would have been better if the lowest level of kitin dropped q100 cats. People needed to be lvl 50+ to kill them even in groups so not so useful to get q50. The next level up were too tough for any but good groups. Given the drop rate and respawn this would not have been a too bad problem for farming.

It would have been good if some thought was given to which mobs went where round towns. Some of the toughest of the Majestic Garden ones were right outside of Yrk - some of them needing Ignore Armour skill (or a nuker I suppose).

The toning down of the invasion on Cho has allowed life to return to normal but I can understand some people are now frustrated as it is hard to hunt them. Perhaps some areas with concentrations of them - away from the main roads; this would represent a clearing of the lines of communication with the Kitin pushed back.

Perhaps for another event (may work best on Cho) not having the Kitin respawn - hence although there are masses at the beginning we can work as groups to clear them out the way. In the case of Matis we could have quickly cleared Majestic Garden, got some good groups to clear Fleeting and all been massacred in Knoll of Dissent.

Cat/flower rewards are GREAT (wooo! non PvP alternatives)... BUT...

TOO LITTLE! In the last 4 days I have hunted for in the region of 15 hours and gotten less than 1/2 a stack and maybe 10 flowers. So yeah, IMHO up the drop rate for non OP-holding guilds, remove it entirely for those with an OP :)

hmm im not sure if youre being serious or not lol, but if you are, you're allowed to take part in pvp and reap the benefits if you so choose, why should pvpers not be extended the same courtesy with this content?

Semi-joking Run :)

Seriously though, there needs to be a CHOICE (either PvP or .... option X!) otherwise with limited supply then there is nothing to stop the OP holders denying people the alternative simply by claiming that as well...

But thats offtopic.

Ok, maybe just up the drop-rate for non OP holders :)
