This game sucks

9 people in my guild quit WoW to play Ryzom and much prefer Ryzom.

It can be a bit daunting at first I know, what with the stanzas and crafting etc, they are a bit harder than just buying pre-made skills, but judging by your post, you must still be in Silan.

Spend a month on the mainland (ie one subscription) and then complain about the game with some knowledge to back up your arguments, maybe people will listen more sympathetically, rather than be so derisive.

Yep this game sucks ... Thats why Iv been subscribed for over a year... And everytime I try to quit I end up back here ...

WoW on the other hand... that game is so great that I tried it and after 2 1/2 weeks(gets old really fast) I quit and never played again...

Coming from WoW I can somewhat understand the OP's frustration. WoW spoon feeds you (though extended time in the game teaches you things you wish you'd known when you started) while Ryzom challenges you. Some people don't like challenge.

I will say this in WoW's defense. I never bothered trying a RPG before WoW simply because the games were so daunting. Character creation with all the stats to track was mind-numbing while game play obviously catered to players with a long history of RPG playtime (whether pen&paper or computer).

While veteran RPG players see WoW as "McDonalds" it represents a gateway into more complicated and rewarding RPG games by giving a simplified experience for us "newbs."

To put it succinctly, if it were not for WoW I would never have given Ryzom a second look. My thought is there will be many WoW ex-pats who will feel the same way.

First off, I don't know if the OP speaks English natively, so I can't say much about that. I mean I can't speak, write, or understand French, so if he doesn't speak English natively, he did better than I would trying to speak another language...

Granted, his delivery was typical. Abusive without any real substance.

Not all WoW players are drooling idiots. I've played just about every mmorpg out there including WoW. WoW can't hold my attention for more than a month anymore, but I do like to go back once in a while so I get a reminder of why I like more complex games.

While Ryzom is challenging, never confuse tedium with difficulty. Any game that resorts to tedium as a means of making the game "difficult" will never get my money long. I'm not saying Ryzom does that. I'm just saying that challenging and mind-numbingly boring are sometimes much closer than one would think.

I'm sorry they nerfed the invasion. I was one who posted that maybe doing away with debt while the event was running would be a good way to encourage folks to participate without unduly punishing the lower level folks who can't really contribute directly.

It's easy to respond harshly to someone who attacks something you like, but all it typically does is lower you to their level of immaturity. Unfortunately, they're likely to beat you with experience.

I'm so sick and tired of wowers invading other games and ranting about wow in shout/universe/regional/shard chat. No other mmo playerbase does it as bad. It boggles the mind.
I had enough of it in Eve, I had enough of it in CoH, I had enough of it in L2, I had enough of it in shadowbane, you can be damn sure I've had enough of it now.

We are perfectly able to form our own opinions on what game we like better. I played wow for a month and I didn't like it. End of story. I can't grasp why wow'ers feel the urge to invade other games and rant about how WoW is better. Insecurity perharps?
There's nothing wrong with going "hey I liked wow more, I'll go back to that, bye.", but when you go "HAY THIS GAEM SUX WOW IS BEST N I CANNT SPEL ROLF" it's just. inane. WoW has by far the most immature mmo community I've ever encountered. And I played CoH!

I wish you could just put a padlock on WoW to prevent them from escaping.
