Questions from a young Homin

To be blunt, I think the answers to #1 by the vets here are grossly misleading. So I am going to toss in my own 2 cents as a 5-month vet with level 100-ish abilities.

1. Is there an easy way to travel to the other capital cities if you have not been there before? I am now in Pyr but I cannot leave the territory as the mobs outside of Imperial Dunes are too though for me still (level 50 and up while im 40)

To the vets -- read this carefully. He did not ask "Is it possible?" He asked, "Is there an easy way" to get from Pyr to Yrk, or Pyr to Zora, etc. The answer is most emphatically and definitely - NO. There is no easy way to get there.

There is a possible way. But it is hard. You have to watch carefully. You almost definitely will die at least a few times. You will have to run from things, and you'd better hope you're running into a safe area, because when that speed boost (if you have it) expires, if you're still surrounded by hostiles, your life is measured in nanoseconds. For example, one way to do this is to only move when speed boost is "up". I know someone who does it like this... move slowly and carefully. The second he gets jumped -- Speed boost! -- run from danger. As soon as it's safe? He alt-tabs out of Ryzom and starts a 10 minute timer (or however long till SB is back up) and surfs the web. This means his treks take hours upon hours to complete. It's possible, yes. Is it fun? Would not be for me, and I sure as hell don't call this "an easy way to get" from Pyr to Yrkanis (or etc).

Yes, I understand that to a vet, doing these treks solo may not be difficult, but to a new player, there is no easy way to get from one land to another. Frankly it is one of the few things I dislike about Ryzom.

hmm so worth trying although i will not use the 10 minute alt tab method. I do have speed up but as you point out thats just delaying the inevitable.

Sashtan helped a lot this evening by getting me to Dyron. which due to all of the extra kitin agrression was not without its deaths. My thanks again

Ok i think this answers all my questions. now to try and get 37 more kitin bits from those minibosses around pyr (i hit them for a whole 36 damage instead of the normal 100 to 200)
