Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

Reread what some of these jokers say, and consider what they do. Garbage in, garbage out.

No, it ain't that bad, best there is, I'd like it to stay that way.

Way back in the mists of time at the start of the thread the question was about neutrality. One of the few things you DO get out of it IS a good feeling of being true to your personal motives and sticking to them, being willing to make a sacrifice for those ideals and that greater good.

People chose to take it as something serious, perhaps due to personal insecurity and started swinging. They got some back.

The fact that some are not, and feel that they should be *special cases* when it comes to pvp, is just crap. We're not going to let you away with the rewards of pvp without you pvping, its pretty simple really, otherwise there's no point in any of us doing it.

Its the same now as it was months and months ago, and the same as it will be for months and months to come.
Nobody is saying people should be given things for free. The argument is that all groups of players are worthwhile and that all styles should be supported. Something of equivalent value, or the same stuff gathered a different way, would be fine for that. It doesn't have to be the same, or at the same rate but another way to get an equivalence that doesn't require PvP treats everyone fairly. Surely you can see (and hopefully understand) that that's a good idea?

J, I still dont understand why you even answer it all. If I would be a Rundll or a Morgaine, I would be grinning like h*ll every you take the bait. Run and Morg (and others) might have a different playing style then I do, and I respect them for that. I dont think you will ever agree with them, or they with you, so just have fun the way the game is fun for you...

You made the "moral superiority" comment. You tried to defend it. You said the "it is just a game" excuse doesn't fly. Even if you were joking, it was only half-joking, at the most.

You will have to forgive those that took you seriously, because seriously is really how you ment it, I think.

I don't consider you a bad person, GJ; nor do I consider you irrational. Typically I enjoy the arguments we have here; and while I don't often find myself on your side, I can typically respect the maner you argue your point.

And while this isn't really the place to properly analyze you as a person, what I can gather form this forum leaves me with the impression that you are the type of person who thinks they see what no one else (or very few) can. That the wisdom of the masses is actually foolishness, and how things would be so much better if people would just stop being...well...people for a change and listen to you.

In short, you are an elitist.

You start off with deciding on a course, and since it it the course you chose, it must be correct. Then you will find bits and peices that justify that decsion, and say that you arrived at the choice through logic. Most of us do that, most of the time; but two things seperate the elitist from the normal self-absorbed man-on-the-street:

1)The elitist can not be convinced he is wrong; unless it is by someone he admires, but typically, the elitist admires people that are just like him.

2)The elitist is driven by the need to either convert everyone else to his way of thinking, or to find a way to impose his views on everyone else; for the greater good, of course.

On the forums, you have limited tools. Basically, posting the same ideas time and time again, hoping that either the players will grow up and listen to you; or that the devs will see your brilliance and follow your advice, ideally adding you to the development team in order to more efficiently get this game back on track.

Since niether outcome happens regularly, you get frustrated.

I understand that.

After all, if people would just stop being stupid and listen to me, we could make this game a much better place. Nevrax really should hire me, I know what has to be done to get this game back on track (better boobie physics).

Holy cr*p I agree with mrshad!

I do that all the time, And i'm not neutral... If I don't want to fight someone I wont... Take OV for instance, I wont fight them due to personal reasons, and they are Kara's in Kami lands... Thats my choice... I don't give up my freedom to choose just because I go Kami.

My personal motives are - To be Kami - To be friends with/be nice too, everyone I can... And fight who I want if/when I want or not fight... And I hold true to what I want out of the game.

Neutrals don't get such a horrible game, Or there would be no neutrals... I know plenty of neutrals that don't have a problem. (And no I wont name them thats not my place.)

P.S. I would have dropped the "Morally superior" If you had never defended it... And personally if someone told me I was an arrogant elitist I think Id take a step back and think about what I was doing/saying to make people think that.

Sorry again for off topic, Have you ever noticed that you cause offtopic post alot? You are a pretty good troll even if your not trying to be =p

BTW--- I AM NOT PRO PVP--- I PVP FOR FUN ONLY! AND WOULD BE FINE WITH OR WITHOUT IT.

Yes ive agreed to that before, of course everyone deserves access to the goodies. But thats not a system thats in place currently. You think we can solve the problem ingame, by letting those who dont want to pvp access the content unchallenged, thats where we disagree, and always will.

Hmm, so you _are_ for non-PvP access to crystals as long as it doesnt involve outposts (or PvP outposts anyways) and any PvE equivalent must be a reasonable challenge? And there should be equivalants in PvE zones for all the bosses found only in PvP zones? Good to know, appreciate the support mate.

I am under the impression: " in single digits" means using Assembly Language to create and play games, i am from that era; long gone since the advent of C and C++, but still don't understand you stance. It is a game not Real Life.

True, for some people it is, 'just a game' and I suspect many of these are the same people who casually gank, exploit, bot, try to figure out the best 'character builds' etc. People who play these things as just a game.

Totally false, "casually gank, exploit, bot, try to figure out the best character builds", are not the trade mark of a concious gamer.

For others recreation comes from being more creative and an MMORPG allows that, especially now with R2. When you invest a great deal of time, effort, energy and love into a thing it is still fun, it is still recreation but to dismiss it as 'just a game' isn't right.

Partiatially right, too much verbose about fun and recreation, that is what a real game is all about. That is why i play Ryzom, it is a real game, do not get it confuse with Real Life.

Paranoia, too much caffeine? - I work 16 to 18 hours per day -Sometimes work is very demanding - Ryzom gives me the relaxing tools i need after several days on the thread mill. I enjoy and have fun playing. Still a game not Real Life.

There's these big disconnects in understanding between different playstyles, even when people claim to understand.

Of course, it will be big disconnects, thats the way in Real Life too.

Mental Note: Jesting on a forum may cause Real Life people to take serious offense, and or may get seroius ego burns.
