I certainly have no right to really participate in this since I'm still on my free trial, but a couple things were said throughout this whole thread I'd like to add some input into.
Someone suggested campfires, and nobody really said much more about it other than it didn't lend itself to playability or story. I beg to differ here, this whole game is about roleplaying, and who wouldn't want to be out in the desert on some clear evening with a bunch of buds around a campfire telling tales of their adventures. Seems to me a perfect roleplaying environment.
Player Housing/Apartments, well I'm fairly new to MMOs in general (having only played 1 (sinks head in shame)), but again having an apartment or house that others could interact with is a perfect roleplaying environment. Having a secret home meeting to discuss the rebellion and overthrowing/killing off those ludicrous Kamis/Karavans (HA, no racial prejiduce from me...)...
Food, well I was taken back quite a bit that there was no food, even props. How the heck did all these races survive without eating anything? How about that Tryker delicacy that causes the Matis to grow extremely nauseated. See, roleplaying here...
So some ideas came from other games. Nothing wrong with that if it's implmented with a good Ryzomish re-working...

I coudn´t agree with you more.
Even if I can "roleplay" eating and use an existing campfire somewhere or the tavern to play in it, I´d love to see some of those things implemented.
Wich in no way should say that I´d wish only for them and their ilk to be put in. Other things, tha have been mentiones by others before, have just the same rights to be inGame soon (tm).

I'd like to see none of your examples. I don't care for special abilities or more powerfull stanza's.russnpam wrote:I didn't see this in the immediate area, and while bug fixes and the Scenario Editor are the orders of the day, I thought it would be a good idea to open the platform for new feature requests. I notice there are alot of things missing on the abilities list in Ryzom, such as Stealth, Backstab, Heals over Time (the 200 HP in 10 second kind, not Metabolism), invisibility and other utility spells (while they may already exist i've not seen them in my short time here). Anyways, what spells, powers, or abilities, or new features such as (jumping, flight, new mounts ect) would you like to see in Ryzom in the future?
I'd like to see a living world where players have a real influence and impact on the way it works through everyday choices and behavior. A new spell that makes me a bit stronger/live longer, well that is just a way to get to 250 more quickly so then what ? The journey is more important and SoR was about the Saga. Now that it is called ryzom I gues we have lost the saga and are more and more becomming some sort of clone of popular MMO's. Maybe I'm just feeling my 30th birthday creaping up on me and I wonder why I have less hair then I used to so I rant a bit to much

I agreee with most of what you said, but
there is food to be found, although you can't do anything with it, not even give it to friends as a gift. Go dig around Atys, and you will find things like honey, eggs, spices, and various other things. It's a shame those can't be traded, though!wizaerd wrote: Food, well I was taken back quite a bit that there was no food, even props. How the heck did all these races survive without eating anything? Going to look back at those things wistfully, all the while playing the game as we have it and hoping the future doesn't make me say WoW....

Re: Added Ryzom Feature Suggestions
After rereading a bit more carefully I'll try to say something positive, the OP wants something positive so here go's:
Suggestions to the developers is a good thing. It shows a active player base full of vibrant ideas and a willingness to participate in the continued development of the game world and it's rules and history. The trend in the current suggestion threads that keep popping up here in the recent month(s) are from people with a wide variety of experiences with MMO's. All have played at least 1 MMO and have seen features that are not present in this current game world. It was a great feature on the world they played on and it would be super if it was implemented here. If they where implemented in ryzom they would enhance the player ability to do something better, easier and faster or would enhance the living world with features that would make it come alive more.
That sounds great, more fun, faster, more enrichment of the environment and it would make nevrax lots of bucks so we are all one happy family
Now for the process:
The game world that we are running around in today is the result of a complex design process that made the first incarnation of atys. After that it was reshaped (patched) explanded (content added) and tweaked to what it is now. Behind the world and it's mechanics is a design philosophy that the developers must follow, at least on broad design decisions, to keep it real and following a consistent line. If players see the world and the experience the game design they adjust to it and either like it or don't or get used to it and bear with it.
Now for a bit of negativism, you can't be positive if you can't have a negative, since there would be nothing to be positive about, would there ?
The game world we play in is a unique one, well you can argue about that but is has it's unique points and quirks. Changing it to look more like other MMO's is something that will dilute the uniqueness of the game world and the design concept. Most of the people who came to ryzom in the beginning where thrilled with the system, it gave absolute freedom, a gradual scale for doing things and a open gameplay type that was lacking in other MMO's. You can call it defensive if people argue against proposed changes but they see the things the game world has and do not need all the other crap from other MMO's. We fled from other game worlds to escape certain mechanics and design concepts that where restraining, frustrating and limiting.
So you must excuse me if I say that all the people who think they found a cool new feature for ryzom after a month of playing can kiss my cute tryker behind and stick it where the sun don't shine.

Re: Added Ryzom Feature Suggestions
I don't have time to read through this entire thread and I'm still a new player to the game. However I feel some of the best insights can come from new players, before they get too aquainted with what they are playing. Here are my suggestions, some of which are things that jumped out at me in the first hour of play.
KEY CUSTOMISATION
The lack of key customisation shocks me. I have played SWG (Pre NGE), World of Warcraft and City of Heroes, each one has enabled me to customise my keyboard and mouse exactly how I like it. Not Ryzom, this is the first MMORPG I have played that I haven't been able to customise properly.
- My multibutton mouse that I bought for these games works with my other MMO's, however Ryzom will not recognise any of the buttons at all, making most of them unusable.
- I hate using 'Enter' to initiate chat, I wish to change the key to something else!
- I want to reconfigure my 'escape' key to clear targets and clear text, it wont let me
- The way the game switches between strafe and turn depending on if you have held the right mouse button down is extremly annoying and unfriendly to me. Please let me turn it off.
GROUPS
- please make it 'auto assist' when in a large group its a major pain to have to right click on someone and then select 'assist' to target their target. In other MMO's if you click a friendly then attack it automatically attacks their target.
MUSIC
- Can we have battle music? music that kicks in when we are in combat, this was used in SWG to very good effect, it let you know when you were in and out of combat and made the musical score more intersting and varied
RADAR
- Can we have a simple backgroud to the radar? green for land and blue for water? or maybe something a little more complex to show variations in land. it makes for a much more imposing and intersting radar and gives a bit more information as to your surroundings. The black hole looks a bit empty and bland.
VENDORS
- The crafting in game is very good, the game screams out for player vendors Maybe we could have designated buildings or spots that people could place their own vendors?
BADGES
- I don't see any badges? do we have any? You could have badges for reaching certain stages of development along a particular skill tree. Badges for exploring a certain area or completing a certain quest line.
Im only 3 days into the game, but felt I wanted to contribute. This is the first MMO in a long time I've been excited about, congratulations on a great game. I feel this game has amazing scope for further development and improvment, I hope you continute to do so.
