It has taken me a few days, but after the first rites mission that you start with (at least in Yrkanis), last night I got my next Rite. I have been struggling to figure out the point of bothering to do any missions at all besides for faction and was more or less focused on the uncovering of amber cubes but had no idea where to turn next to find one. No hints, no leads, nothing. Then last night I completed a mission and up pops the Rites/Encyclopedia saying I had completed one!!
Soooooo since all the missions are repeatable and keeping track of which ones you have done in a manual fashion when each mission giver has a dozen or so each would be a nightmare, could I please beg and plead with the developers to add a simple colored highlight to the missions so that when you have finished a mission once it highlights in a color so you know you have done it once already?
Please?
It seems a pretty "minor" thing and it would have such a huge impact.
Suggestion: Missions/Rites ... please?
Re: Suggestion: Missions/Rites ... please?
Nice idea, I like that one.
TIP: you can look at the link below for details of which rites are active, who gives them and what missions are involved.

As much as everyone should have the game they want, wouldn't what your asking for remove the "discovery" portion of the game that some crave ? Be careful what you wish for, granting your wish might ruin others gameplay.calanthe wrote:It seems a pretty "minor" thing and it would have such a huge impact.

This suggestion would not ruin any discovery.
All that was requested was a marker on mission givers lists of missions indicating which ones you have done at least once before. That way, in the process of doing ALL missions to try to discover the rites you dont repeat yourself.
I think it sounds great.

Re: Suggestion: Missions/Rites ... please?
not easy mode, you could have done the mission prior to getting the amber cube so it would still show you as having done it, causing more confusion and prob asking for the feature to be removed/altered.
Wouldnt it be fun to laugh at the people who wanted this idea? Mwahahahahah

Re: Suggestion: Missions/Rites ... please?
sumoman's point is well taken if there are level restrictions etc.
If you complete a mission and you do not get the part of the Rite
done because you are not the proper level/faction/etc and it
shows done that would be problematic, definitely. Is this the case?
I do not know. It makes me a little twitchy to think I might have to
go back to every single mission giver in the game when I hit a much
higher skill level and faction and re-do every single mission that I have
already done endlessly for faction etc on the off chance I might have
missed a piece of information.
Anyways, that was a very good point and if it is that way... huh.
If not, then really I dont see it as very game breaking in any way.
It is simply a tool that saves a heck of a lot of manual record keeping.
Just like the landmarks on the map. I doubt anyone would think it
is game breaking to stick a flag on the world map so you know where
that great rare material can be found or where your local friendly
Karavan Teleporters can be found.

This suggestion is simply another method of remembering where you've been.

Re: Suggestion: Missions/Rites ... please?
I think it is true to say that if you have the necessary fame to take the mission then that is all that is required for that part of the rite.
Re: Suggestion: Missions/Rites ... please?
Agreed. I can't foresee any problematic issues.jamela wrote:I think it is true to say that if you have the necessary fame to take the mission then that is all that is required for that part of the rite.
The only skill and fame lvl limits won't allow you to take the prereq missions at all if you don't have the requirements. If you do have the fame/skill, and complete the mission, its complete forever. Never need to do it again, regardless of how your skills and fame change.
So a little marker saying you've done it before won't cause any problems.

Re: Suggestion: Missions/Rites ... please?
just asking for the record keeping/ data handling to be done on the computer.
.. how revolutionary is that ??
Lots of stuff in Ryzom would benefit from better bookkeeping, from tracking which missions you have done previously, to who is putting stuff in and taking stuff out of Guild Halls, to personal recipe books for crafters, and personal journals for the players (maybe linkable to map landmarks
)
this is a suggestion for a potential improvement.. not a demand, not a whinge
