I started as a Zorai, and I settled in very well with the surrounding community, I even made friends with a GM on my first day lol, plainly because I looked at him and thought, woo he looks like a scary warrior, was I right in this?


Also for the GM team, you need to find a way to encrypt the .cfg files in the program files directory because I said I would help a GM find out what people could change, hack etc, and, from some PC gaming knowledge, I went to the Program files and i saw the client.cfg and client_default.cfg files and used my xml editor to open them.

Then because I knew you could edit them, I looked on the net and found that some people thought they could do funny things with all the files in the program files, and they thought that they could make people run much much faster etc... I don't think they could because the little piece of coding they left was not in the right syntax... However, I have stated my opinion etc etc blah blah blah and said what I think and cos im a **** programmer, coder etc i'm probably wrong about this but whatever.

I found the fact that I could edit these files very appealing, and if the weren't editable as I started the game in 2005 and I played on Linux, I weren't here today. As I bought my 16:10 notebook, it was nice that I could edit the aspect ratio of the display by hand, since the configuration tool didn't allow me to do that at that time.

Sure you are right, that you can misuse the option to change the files by hand, but that is clearly against the code of conduct.
Maybe there should be a way for the gms to download the game configuration of a client to one of their tools.

I think much of that "running faster" stuff comes from stories like this, where you can make your client run much faster for a short period of time. The funny thing is, it's about a completely different client (folding@home in the example, just do a search), as client.cfg isn't exactly a very unique way to call your config files...

Yes, you are right, the file is not very unique is it... Oh well... I didn't actually read the files myself, but as i have just done that i have noticed that the walkspeed setting, isn't actually there nd therefore, that fast walking edit wouldn't actually work... Still, only trying to help
