Seeking Guild

Post by calanthe »

Greetings,

Skade spent the last few days as a refugee in the Ruins of Silan opening his eyes to the new world around him. He has encountered all manner of strange flora and fauna. He has watched thundering herds of capryni across the grasslands, marveled at the hunting skills of the gingo, and stood strong in the winds of storms passing over the Shining Lake, the short thud of passing cray providing rhythm underlying the howling wind. He has learned something of the nature of Goo, had his boots piddled on by the ubiquitous yubos, and been tossed about playfully like a ball of yarn by kitins.

Yet he feels that his destiny lies elsewhere and through the helpful researchers in the Karavan has now arrived to seeking his fortunes and fate on the mainland. He has been training hard in the ways of the fighter and recently following the road to Natae has procured his first set of heavy armor which shines deep purple like the settings sun over the distant hills.

He seeks like minded roleplayers in the realm to ally himself with in the pursuit of power, certain that the past mistakes that resulted in the fall of the magnificent city of Silan will not be repeated... and if they are... well... sometimes these things happen on the way to knowledge and wisdom. It is his desire to weave the small thread of the tale of his life into the greater collective song of his future guild and that of the world of Atys.

Until our paths cross again, safe paths fellow homins.

If he is prepared to follow the divine way of justice and offer himself to the Kami, then I would possibly be able to find himself in Divine Indignation. (as soon as it's started at the end of the week most likely)

If you do not feel Kami is the path for you, you could live a neutral peacful life in Nightsong.

Hey there Calanthe, seeing as no-one replied, I thought i`d have a chat :) there are a few good RP guilds building up, but yet to hear of a karavan one yet.

Kami or Karavan is a personal choice, your race doesnt affect your choice much, nothing is impossible. Kami guilds tend to rp more due to the spiritual background i guess, dunno, seems more a choice for openminded folk. Anyway hope you find a guild, or indeed start one of your own that rp`s for the karavan.

Have fun

Thank you for the replies. I've usually played druids or that sort of thing, defenders of the wild against all dangers (Smokey the Bear says only you can prevent forest fires). Listening to the Karavan speak though, from my very limited perspective so far, their philosophy is one I agree with. Instead of just wholly eradicating the Goo without understanding what it is or any of its purpose but that it seems to be eating the world, the Karavan seem to want to research, to pause and understand so that they can take action with knowledge of what they do and its results. Now that is not to say that they are not also using the Goo and their research for evil gains, I really have no perspective on that at this time. However seeing the way the Matis seem inclined to power and pride, which resulted in their downfall in Silan, it seems a perfect fit of philosophies. This is where I see Skade going and I am not certain of what would offer more roleplay with the Kami, but this seems equally rich in potential. That it is a path not often taken, so be it. If that means eventually I will need to begin my own guild that will be done.

For now, I look forward to meeting all of you and trying to learn my way around a vast new world. And who knows, nothing is set in stone, maybe the knowledge learned along the way will lead to a path I cannot envision at this time. That is often the way of things.

Safe journeys all,
