To answer some questions about the Festival of Light, here is the explanation from the previous Festival of Light:

The Festival of Light is a Karavaneer holy day and festival held every Jena Year celebrating homin life and giving thanks to our Mother Jena, Goddess of the Sun, who made our lives possible by saving and sustaining us with light. After the Dragon lead our ancestors to Atys, He endeavored to extinguish the sunlight of Atys and reduce our ancestors to slavery in the cold and the dark. However Jena, the Creator of Atys, got wind of the Dragon's plans and filled His body with eternal fire to prevent him from breathing coldness and extinguishing the living Light. We celebrate Jena’s saving our ancestors that day and providing us with her Light every day since.

Here are more details on the Mektoub race:

The racers may trek with the Festival revelers until we enter the Trench of Trials or meet us there. The race will begin up at Aedengate workshop outpost in the Trench of Trials and race north through the Gates of Obscurity, going around the Alleys Bluff Stronghold outpost in the far north of GoO and then racing back to the the finish line at the Pyromancer's camp in the northwest corner of ToT (Eerie Valley).

The following prizes have been gathered so far for the race:

Following the Mek race, we will have the Young Homin Challenge. All those homins less than 3 months old are eligible to compete in this (foot) race. The prizes collected so far are

Young Homin Challenge:
Set of pre-requisite q240 hp LA Anyone can wear this armor
12 stacks of q150 crystals
1 million dappers
q50 and q100 maga amps, q50 tekorn also


Next we will chase down 5 Marauders will the following prizes to those who catch them. (I'm looking for volunteer marauders, please contact me if interested.)

1 q200 tekorn bramble
1 op pick

Marauder Henchmen bounty (x4):

The team combat competition follows. It will be held at Yelkgrove Border post in the Trench of Trials. Teams consisting of 6 homins will compete. The rules are no outside help, no use of wildlife, the combatants must stay at the outpost, no auras or invulnerability allowed (because of timer regeneration issues). Please contact me to pre-register teams if you wish. The prizes gathered so far are:

My thanks to everyone that came and had fun! I hope that everyone enjoyed it! We had an awesome Festival. Sorry for the slow start, trekking a hundred homins scattering into different directions in the difficult (GvG) zone of Trench of Trials was a challenge!
