should be quite obvious by what he writes.

OP: please try making a completely new char. :)

Can you start on the mainland without being on Silan first?

arganosh: if you start with a reactivated account that just made it to mainland when you last left the game, yes. the search for the guy made me think of finding the barman, afterwards meeting birds -> leaving through the south gate of pyr. scar has a point tho. :o

I gave this game one more try and it was not noob friendly, i mena come on people i was killed the sec i walked into the pvp zone !! i was geting killed as the pvp warning flashed on my screen!!!
you're given a warning as you enter a pvp zone and told you will be pvp active in 30secs. It then warns you every 5 secs until you become pvp active, upon which it the warns you that you can be attacked. It was not immediate since thats not possible. If you chose to ignore the warnings, then its your fault for staying in a pvp area when you didn't want to run the risk of being killed.
thaiger wrote:I walked around the outside of the noob city and all i could find was bird after bird lookig monster so im thinking this is the noob mobs im post to fight!!

Its bad game design to put strong level mobs right nexed to the noob zone. thats why its called a STARTING CITY!!!
In order to get to the javings (they're over 200m from the starter camp btw...) you have to pass: Suckling Yubo, Timorous Yubo, Suckling Capryni, Tumorous Capyrni, and I believe suckling Bodoc. You apparently decided that none of these would be a good test of your current strength (I assume in the level 1-5 region) and decide to take on the mid range mobs found on the island. Now, most people would pick themselves up off the floor and go back to killing yubo, capryni and the other lower mobs to level up some and gain the hp and skills to tackle the harder hitting aggro mobs.
thaiger wrote:I dont want to spend 5 hours looking for something i can kill. I can't even see the levle of the mobs because i was a noob!! This game is not new player friendly!!
And if you all say it is your just trying to keep this dead hore alive!
Again, you obviously didn't try hitting the mobs found less than 15m from the camp (they tend to roam INTO the camp btw... so you'll prolly have seen them on your hunt for Chiang, the guy stanging on top the hill that you spawn in on). The new player zone is incredibly player friendly. I assume you didn't even bother to pick up any of the specialized missions (such as the Harvesting ones) that would explain the skill tree in more and more detail as you took more complicated missions?
thaiger wrote:New players want to work up into pvp and learn the game slowly not thrown into the sharks the first few mins of the game.
ok... then don't go in the arena. Simple enough. They give you plenty of time to get yourself out of the arena if you end up in there by accident. If you stay and ignore the warnings, then you've forfeited any right to whine about getting killed.
thaiger wrote:Fix the problems and people will come back to this game and STAY!! but if you die from pvp 20 mins into the game when your still tryng to just find the first npc or figuring out how the hub works. Then like me your goign to say ya this still sucks, back to FFXI....
While I do agree this game does have problems that it needs to correct, you have yet to list one of them. The pvp was because you decided to stay in the arena for more than 30s. The NPC you were looking for was standing right next to you when you spawn in (you could have also right clicked on your compass and targeted him using the Mission option), and the hub and other parts of the game are explained through the various missions you take from the mission givers.

If you're going to complain about the game, at least have some valid reason to. Simply because you were playing the game half-assed doesn't mean that its a bad game. You just weren't putting anything in to it. You'd have to be to not notice all the things I listed above.

That's what I did when I went back to DDO. I didn't want to run around as a 5th level char..without having a clue even how to walk. :D

gang we've all heard the dont complain about the complain about the complane ;) fair enough...its ugly, it take a while to "know" what the plan is. takes a bit of effort etc etc. luckliy maybes i got ryzomed before doing other mmorpgpgpgg's which mean i feel like the orignal poster when playing anthing else (SWG before combat thing and after) hero city and eve was just to "vast"........so Mr orginal poster has valid points no need to dis em so light heartedly.

Somehow I doubt it. What city is he in that has a pvp zone really close by? Yrk maybe, but to find "birdies" he'd have to go wwwwaaaaaaayyyy out of his way to get to those (not to mention miss ginogs and ragus on the way up there).

Also there aren't any mats in the Arena in Yrk. They're only in the Arena in Silan.

Obviously, the people you need to talk to must have gaint glowing exclamation marks above their heads.... otherwise how will players realise they are significant ?

and the help / tutorial / quest messages must be locked open on your desktop, with bright flashing letters permanently on, until you attain level 51.

Because how else can a poor beginner/returnee find out how the game works ?

As far as I can tell, the OP deliberately shot himself in the foot, repeatedly, in an attempt to find fault with the game. Every point he raised is a joke, and only makes him look ridiculous in front of anyone who has spent time on Silan.

An attitude like that is not deserving of respect, compassion, sympathy or understanding.

Grow up or get out.

I'm sure ill get flamed for this, if every noob has this bad experiance from the start of this game, no wonder this game just cant get the life it should have.

FIX THE GAME!!! and you will keep player, It a shame becase this game could be so much!

okay well firstly this is my first time round in this game and I had no trouble with the "noob" (word which i hate) area.

Secondly your post is flame bait in and of itself so its gonna get flamed.

Lastly its not broken from what I can see. The first guy with instructions was right in front of my face. The pvp zone you speak of has this huge warning that flashes across your screen and counts down till the flag goes active. The only thing you need to do is open your eyes slow down and read the information given to you.

My only complaint was this: I logged in for the first time and it was night time and I didn't know how to turn on the lights and found myself walking into things that were bad for my health, but then this gm type person was onsite with a very helpful message to tell me to "press L to light your way" and I did and all was wonderful.

I am assuming you started on the Island sounds like it from your description as there are a couple of birds out the front gate along with the yubos and if you wander out a side door you might enter the pvp zone by accident but then you get a huge warning telling you your about to flag.

In any case most people ask huge amounts of questions in chat and get them answered. I think I aksed one question the entire time because I tend to be a person who likes to muddle through on my own. I read everything and I take my time.

Anyhow if you decide to try again make a character in the starter area press L if its dark and walk up to the npc he will give you instruction to go to a fighter trainer who is about 10 steps to the side of him. I also suggest you read all the mission info given to you as it does have helpful hints.
