It's quite easy to group with about anyone in ryzom without much xp penalty.

Take someone who's
- lvl 110 one hand mace
- lvl 60 two hand melee
- lvl 40 offensive magic
- lvl 20 range weapon

This player is able to group with anyone lvl 10 - 140 with hardly any xp penalty.
All he does is switch his team role according to the level of his friends.
Don't know many mmorpg's where you can do that.

The problem with having people post as unregistered is that you can't tell who says what. My question of why someone was posting was aimed at this responce:
"That would only work if the xp penalty was not so severe as kandyfox descrived. Also being a healer all the time everywhere gets old fast. I wish someone came up with a wide range of support roles people could use to make mixed level groups fun..."

Which made me believe that someone was answer how something worked even though they weren't playing the game. Lots of people on here seem to do that. Didn't mean to sound mean to someone who is genually interested in the game.

A few ideas for you with the grouping problems. First is to either find a group of players who don't play that often or find a guild. The other thing you could do is just check out the lower level mobs and when you see someone fighting them ask to group up.

You will never have people running around killing other players without consent. From the look of things, it's something the devs really want to avoid.

To be honest there really isn't much anyone can say to you that will say that this is the game for you or isn't. You really have to try it for yourself and see. It's that way with MMO's in general. All I can tell you is there seems to be plenty to do, people seem friendly and helpful, and the devs and players are very excited about the game.
