I seem to be having a problem wherein a lot of the interface windows aren't actually displaying any text, either in the patcher, or in game.
The patching screen will only display the progress info if I scroll the release notes all the way to the bottom. What (I think) is the TOS screen shows up with a big blank scroll box and blank buttons, had to guess which one was accept.
In game, so far I've discovered the log out screen in the editor not having any text on it, the character sheet showing up blank, and maybe some other stuff, but I can't remember at the moment.
Also, in the editor, when the option pops up to select which type of terrain you want, is it supposed to be just some text plastered over the top of the normal interface? There was no window or anything, just the text printing over the top of everything else on the screen, with the map showing in the middle, confused me sometihng fierce.
I thought maybe it might've just beena corrupted install, but a compelte redownload and re-patch of the client, paired with like half a dozen file checks, seems to indicate it's quite fine. Though I have been occasionally getting a message saying something like "forced unpack - checksum error" durign the patch check when logging in. Didn't get that this morning though, so it might've fixed itself.

Windows missing text
Re: Windows missing text
Radeon 7200 really is below the recommended minimum specs for running Ryzom. Run the out of game configuration (look in the Ryzom section of your main Windows menus) and disable all of the 'display advanced' options. Set all settings to 'Low' in the 'display details' section. Plus you might want to try forcing OpenGL mode in the 'display' section as we have found that this works best for the lower end video chips/cards.
When launching the game say 'no' when asked to switch to direct3d and no to wanting more information on AGP.

Re: Windows missing text
Well, switching to OpenGL did the trick all by itself, though OpenGL mode doesn't seem to perform as well. I did wind up turning all the detail settings down, and switching off the checkboxes in advanced.
And yeah, I'm a bit under spec, but it's a really cool game, so I'm willing to deal. I'll be upgrading this machine soon for NWN2, and from what I've played this far, Ryzom just gave me another reason to upgrade.
