PvP Etiquette Question(s)

what i do feel is a bit of pity that somone feels they have to kill (to all intents and purposes) a defensless digger. do their ego's need that much feeding that they feel the need to kill something that can't really fight back. their ego's would get more sustinance from tagging up and going to pvp with other tagged up players. or maybe they are scared they might get killed

Hehe! Well said, Sash. I always thought the same. I am hardly a challenge to anyone, so how the F... will somebody get any satisfaction of it. (And if they do, pity is needed indeed)

I have been killed in PR once. I asked some handy members of OV to do it, to save me a walk back to the portal as I dont get TPs.

However, I have had a bellyfull of being nuked while digging as I joined during Ep 2 and was so low level no one got any honour points for killing me... but they did it anyway.

The ONLY PR 150 zones are PvP. The only place neutrals can buy the TPs and dig sup mats (Nexus) is PvP. Sure I can dig close to a portal in other places, but my content is limited enough by faction nerfs. I am forced into PvP zones by TP limitations. Thats not "consent".

Expect me to be... irritated by anyone getting their juvenile jollies nuking a digger unprovoked.

All of Lands of Umbra is PvP. Thats what I mean.

I admit I skipped most of the thread, My view on PvP etiquette is

Kara tagged no matter where they are or what they are doing are fair game, turn on the tag and expect to kill/be killed.

Kara PvP player who I know to be active in PvP digging in PvP zone - kill
Kara non PvP player doing the same - generally leave alone
Neutral player in PR - Feel sorry for them as they ran far enough, no kill
any male wearing matis light pants digging in PR PvP zone - DEAD

nexus isn't PR it's an extension of matis but i get your point that it is the only place in the game neutrals can buy tp's where there are sups. although with nexus i'd be more worried about the mobs than pvpers hehe

It looks to me that your finally seeing the limited tho complex gameplay we all suffer. The bottomline to stop posturing for your guild... what is your guild plans and their relation with the rest of us ?

Currently, our plans are to participate in the community, and have as much fun as possible. The rest of you are part of that plan.

You have spoke of not being able to move up, what do you aspire to ?

I've never said we can't move up... if you are referring to my posts regarding the OP situation, my observations of the system are based on a sense of it needing some work, adaptation, or flat out removal of cats from them altogether. But that's a topic for another thread (several of them, apparently)

You wanna kick Melinoes ass ? You looking for the smallest guild holding an OP ? Which faction do you follow and can they trust you ?

I currently don't feel the need to kick anyone's ass, not yet anyway.

I, and my Guild, are currently neutral. My friends and allies can trust us, as for the rest, unless they read the forums they probably have no idea who the hell I am.

I'm here to have fun, not to grief anyone. Don't mistake my personal OOC feelings about OP mechanics and the whole GvG/AvA/FvF situations for my willingness to participate in them, or as a sign that I am whining about my Guild's progress. We're actually doing rather well for a small Guild, though we really need to step up our recruiting a bit... will most likely get on that once I have finished moving (do you have any idea how much crap you can horde in 3 years??).

Anyway... I think this line of conversation sort of derails the thread, and touches on a few issues in other threads, so I am going to throw it back to the PvP Etiquette theme.

So from what I get, attacking diggers or crafters is legal if they are tagged, but can be considered rather rude by some. My question is (and this is based more on people who have an active PvP tag), why is that considered rude if the player has PvP enabled? Just curious on the reasoning, since the flag can be turned off.
