I think it should depend on when the convention takes place. In North America we have one option open that many other countries do not have, and that is the freedom of versatility in changing seasons. While NYC or chicago are very nice ideas, and are definately hubs for travel, I would think they would be better suited for the warmer months. During the winter, both areas can be blistering cold. I say this with our friends across the seas in mind. It is different, perhaps, for one from North America to attend anywhere in any season. But to come overseas is not something most get the opportunity to do with any degree of frequency. I believe that it should be comfortable for them, as it is an investment, and in many ways, a vacation. They should be able to travel around outside of the convention in comfort, as well as our friends from here in North America. So, my long winded Idea is that NYC or Chicago uif it is held in the wamer months, but maybe some place like Atlanta, or even Charolette, NC if it is instead held during the colder ones. Some of the other places may be good as well, for warmer weather, but travel time should also be considered. Someplace along the east cost may be both more convienient and cheaper than some places farther into the States.

put your hands up....
put your hands up for Detroit
i love this city

sorry i couldn't resist :D

i'd better start saving i guess :) can't guarantee i'll be able to come but if it was around easter time i guess the climate would be warming up.

i like the idea of NY due to the touristy aspect of it and the ease to get to but *shrugs*

It would be nice to make it during a less-touristy time of year as well. IF airfare and hotels aren't at premium rates it could help to cut some of the travel costs.

Boston I would prefer since it is only a 3 hour drive. While the rest are alot further.

Detroit! that works for me as well as Chicago would. :D

I saw Grand Rapids mentioned as well, thats kinda right between both Chicago and Detroit and has an international airport.

Haveing a few of us living in the host city would also help in getting a place selected, reserved and hotels worked out rather than a city none of us has ever been at. ;)

Just as a suggestion of a good location, both for airports and venues, you may think about Seattle also.

Been thinking about it for some time now, and I've got to say someplace in Texas sounds pretty good. Central location, plenty of airports and nice cities, warmer in the wintertime... Anyone else agree?

I'd have to vote Chicago only because its selfishly close to Michigan.
