Firstly I'm a newbie, NOT a NOOB there is a difference. Secondly, as a new player coming from a LONG history of MMORPGS, I like what I see in this game. No i'm not a huge pvp fanatic, yet I will do pvp when its appropiate. Mainly in a factional setting or such, which makes alot of sense. Now to say that this game revolves around pvp, I would beg to differ, the game's storyline is built around two main themes. TO my limited understanding, 1 The conflict between the two factions, YES this is a key Point. And one that should Not be ignored, YET there is a second Point to the storyline. And that is. 2. The unification of the races to defeat the Kitin, or in a last stand, survive. Hmmmm you ask yourself, why two different main themes?? TO please EVERYONE, those who dont wish to pvp, dont have to, yet those who do, will get full enjoyment out of it.
P.S. Just the two cents of a New player, who has 4 Years running In SWG, 2 Years running in Guildwars, a year of WoW, half dozen smaller ones.
P.S.S. Why the idiots at sony got away from a skill based system, to make thier life easier, unfortunately for them, they lost LOTS of players I'm here because of the skill system, I'm stayiing because of the game.
Peace Out.

Try learning what my rp was really about, then get back to me. If you had any clue at all you would know that I wasn't "constantly sounding off in region" nor "massacring people in the roots".grimjim wrote:There's a fine line between RP and 'being an ass under the cover of RP'. One cannot be any more selfish in pure RP actions than one should be in PvP actions. True, its much harder to impose RP and much easier to disrupt it, but constantly sounding off in region or massacring people in the roots isn't going to make you any chums.
You'll be happy, I'm sure, to know that the extremist vision is now much more prevalent. If still pretty much as illogical and counter to the lore-that-was.

And it is, congratulations everybodyraynes wrote:It [ryzom] was intended to be about the players, the Kami, and the Karavan.
Not to whine or anything but all the OP and PvP threads are getting a bit to me and I solve it by posting useless and , to me, humorous comments to lighten my mood.

Here, go argue with yourself for a while, that should be entertaining.raynes wrote:Try learning what my rp was really about, then get back to me. If you had any clue at all you would know that I wasn't "constantly sounding off in region" nor "massacring people in the roots".

Yes that is right because I had people accusing me of things I did not do. I did not go hunt massive numbers of players down to kill them. I didn't go around killing random players for no reason. In fact I can probably count the number of players I killed on one hand. And some of those were planned out with the people I killed! (like killing one of the Karavan guild leaders at a Karavan summit).
It got to the point where I had a reputation that had no basis in reality. That being that I was this mean player that was out to ruin everyones fun. When the reality was that there were people who didn't like me RP'ing a Kami extremist so they did everything in their power to make my gametime as unfun as possible.
Which brings me back to knowing what my rp was all about. Maybe if you took some time and did a little bit of research you would find out what you think you know is anything but true.
Re: There seems to be some confusion over what Ryzom was meant to be...
Then, as now, you put a lot of effort into projecting that attitude and portrayal. Screwed by your own success perhaps and an inability to get across that you were just RPing. Its amazing the wonders that 'OOC: I'm just RPing' can accomplish.raynes wrote:Which brings me back to knowing what my rp was all about. Raynes if you can't live with the repercussions of pk'ing then its your problem not everyone elses, the world isn't a fair place and people don't like to be killed.
If you want to play a bad guy, your going to get treated like one you can't have your cake and eat it I'm afraid.

Hey it's not me sounding off, I'm just stating the facts sure its the persons fault for dying in a pvp area kind, but that doesnt remove their right to be angry at the person who killed them.rundll32 wrote:But if you cant cope with it without sounding off and shouting abuse then what are you doing in a pvp area in the first place
I'm not god I didn't create the human psyche but there's no game ever made where pk'ers dont have to deal with abuse in come cases unwarrented but still its part of life as a pker...
