Before I Move...

Post by eschiava »

Before I move to the mainland from Matis newbie village, should I upgrade my equipment? Currently I have a q18 sword and q10 light armor. Should I get q20 armor before I move, or wait and get better? How much should I expect to pay for medium armor on the mainland?

Oh, I am at 31 melee, 23 harvest, and 21 craft.

Thanks in advance for your helpful suggestions. :)

go for the upgrade if you feel like it and are enjoying the collecting experience, otherwise just pop on over to the mainland and have fun :)

[prices edit- sorry, bad memory]

I think anything less than q40 weapon/armor would be a waste of money considering your melee level. They might not be available in the first city you pop into, but outlying cities have more q options. Definitely don't buy q20 stuff since you've already outrgrown it and you'll lose money selling it back.

I think I paid about 14,000 for a q25 sword and same lvl armor was about 8,000 each piece. Or, since you craft, make sure you have enough craft skill points to buy up to q40 items ability and make it yourself for more experience.

I can't speak for the Matis city, but when I moved to the Fyros city, I spent about 70,000 for merchant q25 medium armor and weapons. Also, there are merchants that sell q30, q40 & q50 armor and weapons, too (maybe even q35 but I can't remember for sure. Pay more dappers accordingly.

I suggest then, do some missions to gather 100-150K dappers and come on up.

Never buy items that can be crafted from merchants! There are struggling crafters like myself that desperately need your business and can charge less than what the merchants charge.

You should get as high as possible and get the best player crafted weapons and armor that you can before coming to mainland.

In addition, you should save as much money as you can so that you can get better player crafted items not long after you arrive.

Ummm. Since the highest player-crafted equipment he is likely to get on the island is q20, and his melee is already lvl 31, why waste money on it if he's just going to buy better quality crafted stuff as soon as he arrives?

Besides, he said he's a crafter himself. He can just buy the hi qual mats himself.
