Actually didnt see it like that. Bit Shadey, maybe there should be some downsides to that as well! Liek both sides ending up getting annoyed lolgrimjim wrote:Yep, it does. Giri, favours for favours.
During the temple building some of us did just that, switching between sides to earn points from both and items from both. Rashan did that the most since he had the patience to fame grind, but it can be done.
Think of it as an arms dealer profiteering from both sides and it makes plenty of sense.

Re: OP battle, PvP the way it is!
I really like the dig able outpost idea with maybe one of each lvl cat in suitable zones would be nice to see the Q250 outposts in the primeroots zone maybe one in underspring and one in wastelands.
i would also like to see these resources defendable if the holding guild so wished so it must be a pvp enabled area.
good ideas there guys to freshen up the increasingly stale op situation. keep them coming maybe Nevrax is actually listening.

The whole idea of the suggestion was to move it _away_ from PvP... but I suppose as long as give out cats in other ways I dont care what PvP ways exist.wardone wrote:i would also like to see these resources defendable if the holding guild so wished so it must be a pvp enabled area.

Re: OP battle, PvP the way it is!
I was hoping to bring the element of choice into the equation.. If you support the outpost owners by letting them get free cats for each one you dig.. you are fine and happy and not tagged - BUT - you can refuse to pay, in which case the guild gets nothing, but you are tagged as hostile, and people tagged as defenders can smack yougrimjim wrote:Having constant fighting takes it back to PvP content with no choice, yet again. That doesn't get us anywhere when it comes to providing for all play styles.
Allowing people to stock up from digging at outposts works fine, let the fighting happen over control of the areas.
/edit probably need to reintroduce Kami Tolerance in some form, to stop everyone just sitting on the easy to reach OPs
Re: OP battle, PvP the way it is!
OK..i've read alot here and have to comment again, not only on this thread but others as well.
Riders on the Storm offered up a GvG challence than was declined. OK. Fine.
alot of people were upset that it was declined. OK. Fine.
alot of people were upset thet it was declined, but the challenge remained. OK. FINE
alot of people were upset that the offer was made, the offer was declined, and the defending guild was flamed for this. OK. FINE
the battle took place. OK.FINE. theattackers held to their word and came as a guild alone. OK. FINE.
the defenders had a huge alliance to help defend. OK. FINE.
theres no problems with the circumsatnces that happened within the game mechanics. Riders made a valiant effort to attack..whatever the reason. GoJ successfully defended...however they had to.
theres no problem here....except theres 1 side that felt their time was wasted and that theres no way they will EVER cahnce giving up what belongs to them whether its a noble effort or a full out tooth and nail fight to try and take it. the other side felt that they were wronged i'm sure by the fact that they worked as a guild hard enough to feel they could challenge the owner of a q200 OP for said ownership, but the owning guild could not defend and had to have several others defend for them. OK. FINE.
major problem is this leaves still 2 sides..not nessicerily FvF, but a feeling of "have and have not" its an old argument that you should bring enough to fight and organize better if you want to win. but whats the current argument.....what of guilds who want to move ahead and try to upgrade to a new OP. what of new guilds forming and not wanting to be tied to an alliance, but rather be a "free" spirit..Is there any way for such people to enjoy high end content of this game?, or is all the cool stuff dictated by a select few who decided they can be more powerful than everyone else and force them to play in such a manner that only benefits or "works" for said huge alliance.
this alliance that continually feels they have an undeserved bad reputation will not at all let anyone else in game who does not completely agree with them or their terms even remotely have a chance at fair play in this game. I saw talk of if the Riders on the Storm wanted a GvG challenge they should challeng Order of the Nameless. if i am right here, OtoN have held a q250 OP ever since OP came out. And if i'm right here RotS have held a q100 OP since they came out. If the RotS were seeking as a guild for an upgrade they felt they could handle, why would they challenge probably THE single most powerfull guild on atys? and why would said most powerful guild not only be the one to accept such a challenge, but be the most vocal about not wanting anyone to challenge their friends?..wheres the sport in this game
The powerfull in this game are in a position to get more powerfull..thats fine.
My biggest question is, is there ever going to be an opportunity for a guild to compete with the current "strong" guilds? the RotS made a valiant effort to try to move forward as a guild, but were held down not by the owners of the challenged OP, but mostly by the most powerfull guilds on atys. Is there any kind of restraint or competitive spirit in these strong guilds? or are they scared of possible competition?.. why must the most powerfull there is dictate who owns every OP out there. Why could this not be accepted as GvG by the community and everyone stay out out of respect for the guilds involved and the game itself. I know i will hear the same argument that you don't leave freinds hanging, but come on people there are otehrs playing besides yourself. I have no ties to the Riders, but i cannot look past the fact that they had the nerve to go to battle as a guild, only to be bullied by the strongest guilds on atys and told that they should challenge a guild thats 2 1/2 times larger/stronger than them..instead of challanging an OP 100 levels hgher than thier current one in their homeland.
sorry if you current all mighty and powerfull guilds feel this is a tired old argument, but you have never been in the shoes of the arguers, and don't feel cheated by the game itself for not being able toachieve what you want though hard work, time and major effort.
again i'm just very frustrated at the fact that everytime this debate is brought forward, the dominant side feels its just whining.
Is this really the mature community that everyone talks about?

Re: OP battle, PvP the way it is!
Dont be frustrated... Its only a matter of time till the Kami get the advantage... And if that doesn't happen then the Kara will have no one to fight but each other... Which will lead to smaller alliances, Which would likely pull the Kami from the ashes... I know a few Kami that wont fall... Even if they are the last on the server... There are some fleeing to Cho, Which worries me... But let them go if thats what they want...
As a Kami I can honestly understand the feeling of frustration so many Kami feel. But We can't give in! We must band together and fight... No point in letting it frustrate you... For that doesn't solve anything... Just look at it ths way... People at the top only have one way to go.. and thats down... Its just a matter of time
