Been playing Ryzom happily for over a week.
I use full-screen mode, and Alt-Tab out of Ryzom to work in other apps. After the latest patch, the first time I tried Alt-Tab Ryzom froze, and I could not access my desktop (had to hard-boot). Since then, whenever I try to use Ryzom I have no cursor and no mouse input. It's there through Ryzom loading, and selecting which character I want to play. But as soon as it goes to the world to play, no cursor/mouse.
Anyone else? Thoughts?
Thanks a lot for any ideas.

Mouse/cursor problem after patch
Re: Mouse/cursor problem after patch
In this case the only solution seems to be to delete the interface_charname.icfg file in the SAVE folder.
It can become corrupted if you have to crash out of Ryzom.
Make sure to back up the SAVE folder just in case deleting the file does not solve your problem

Thank you very much, Zerlin. That resolved the problem.
Re: Mouse/cursor problem after patch
I am consistently having the same problem where I can load all the game and get into it fine but either of the following happens:
1. Mouse works but no keyboard keys except alt-f4 to close the game.
2. Mouse doesn't work nor the keyboard and I just freeze there. Can't do a thing except use the taskmanager to end the ryzom process.
Nothing else of my computer doesn't work, just the game. My mouse and keyboard work just fine outside the game, even while the game is loaded.
What I've tried:
1. Deleting the interface_charname.icfg file, as mentioned above, after backing my save folder. Sometimes works, often doesn't.
2. Trying all different settings in the configuration from minimal to maximum settings. No difference.
3. Using all defaults and windowed mode. No difference.
A combination of the above. Same thing.
I am using Windows XP SP2, have a NVidia GeForce FX 5200 graphics card.
Sometimes I just close the game and reopen it and voila!... everythign is back to normal and works for me. It's getting very frustating as I've had to spend around 1 hour at times closing and reopening the game and tweaking until it works by total fluke.
Any suggestions?

Re: Mouse/cursor problem after patch
deleting interface_charname.icfg solved a lot of problems i had, but i couldnt, hmm cant you move the landmarks data to a different file? that would help somewhat.

Re: Mouse/cursor problem after patch
At this point I have found a suggestion in the french forums ( http://www.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25859 ) and it solved my problem.
-----------------------------------
Before loading the game, empty the folder Ryzom\unpack without deleting the folder itself.
Inside the folder Ryzom\data , delete all files ending with (.string_cache).
Launch the game and you will have a patch of about 6.6 MB or more depending on if your game had the latest patch. Follow instructions until you relaunch the game and everything should be back in order.
From Hebene
------------------------------------------------
Well, I did that and lo and behold, everytime I do it fixes the problem though I'm back to default configurations. The next time I open up the game, I still lose the connection with my keyboard and have to redo the process everytime I play the game. Needless to say that was annoying so I decided to narrow the process down to the file that fixes the problem only.
Everytime I had to play I deleted just one file and found out that the only file that fixes the problem is the exedll.Bnp. When I delete this file only then launch the game, I get an exedll_00601.Patch file download and apply and then relaunch the game and it works.
It leads me to suspect that applying the patch changes another file somehow.
Anyways, I hope this info helps others and the programmers pin-point where the problem could reside.

These fixes have nothing to do with keyboard/mouse configuration and force a repatch of the EXE and DLL files and clear out the NPC conversations.
It sounds like something is constantly corrupting the game files on your system. You may want to do an in depth scan of your system both software and hardware wise.

Re: Mouse/cursor problem after patch
Thx. I have come to the same conclusion after today. The saga continued with a few re-application of the patch then all of a sudden it didn't work anymore. I deleted just the *.string_cash and interface_drachle.icfg and that did it!
So it does seem like something else is "fidgeting" with my files.
Thanks for your response, Zerlin.
