Sorry to sound bad here..but can anyone WITHOUT BEING SARCASTIC OR FLAMING OR RUDE, please explaine the current state of affairs IG? I'm curious to know if the karavan alliance has ever been succesfully challeneged or even defeted in their quest for dominance.
either way..has anything been done by either side to make OPs a better player event where theres a GvG battle for an OP or is it still just kami vs. karavan and the side with the most players available OL wins(not trying to make it all sound faction oriented..just wondering if there has ever been infact a GvG OP fight)
Again plz I don't want to here blah blah blah we already talked about this blah blah blah I haven't played in nearly 6 months because of the crap to do with this so i'm trying soooo hard to find a reason to come back..I love the game and the world..just want to come back to a place where theres fun and challenge, not a place where theres dominators and second class players who just don't have the availablitiy of enough allies to get the "new" stuff in game
I normally hate to dual post and prefer to quote all new in one post but your message compels me to keep it seperate.
I am no stranger to anyone in this game and never hide my role... but as another old player your really misinterpreting things a bit. I will give my opinion and of course it is one sided, it's what I saw without trying to show bias.
OP's came in, initially the organised (or tried to) made their (our) land grabs as there was no ownership claims by race/faction... only Marauders.
What is tossed around as "KA" (Karavan Alliance) is a label given to a group of players that were already friends/allies in the game and most naturally were already aligned the same factionwise. This "group" sat in a public place (the Rotunda in Yrkanis) the day prior to outpost release and talked about what we all wanted under best conditions and made a gentle(wo)mens agreement to execute the next day. The Kami aligned guilds had to do similar as they came out of the gate fast as well those claiming faction neutrality.
Within a week after we had figured some things out the skirmishes started. Then the push/pull as folks who felt everyone that got an outpost was an oppurtunist because they didn't have one were attacking around Atys. Eventually that settled down quite a bit and players started finding out which outposts had which mats etc etc...
As a follower of Jena I will say that we were attacked well and repeatedly by Kamist (and some neutral/merc's players)... Allies lost some key outposts and some decided we had to go from passive/defensive to active/defensive (which remains Melinoe's stance to this day)... After suffering 4 attacks in one day (and night) there was a change in the air and an "eye for an eye" became a mantra.
This was not always done well on either side but after awhile we saw a shift from Kami dominance (and unfortunately losing a great Kami guild) to an evening of outposts between sides during the chaos of leadership. As players moved about and formed/reformed new Kami guilds they became less organised but more aggressive/desperate. Using similar multiple or fake attack tactics they drove the Karavan aligned guilds to retaliate and the balance changed slightly to Karavan aligned guilds hands for awhile.
Currently taking the OP's into consideration and the guilds holding them there is as close to parity as we have ever had in Atys despite what you hear by the propoganda crowd. Count on your own the number of OP's owned by this "KA" and those aligned against the "KA"... If you don't see even distribution your not watching the forums and gameplay.
Lately the flavor for the non-"KA" side is changing labels and using different politics to try and shy away from being called Kami to hide this balance but anyone with 5 minutes in the OP owners thread will make it apparent.
[addendum] I left some specifics and names out personally in some of the shifts of power and players as they are less important than the outcome we currently live with... This is what I saw and see...
We all make our own fun, nobody can make your fun for you and you cannot expect them to... I can only apologize that you consider us trying to stay out of the forums politics a "high horse"[/end]
