Ryzom freezed after a modem DC

Post by thecrius »

Last night, my modem have a disconnection. I see Ryzom window that notice a "net problem" appear in the game so i'll wait the modem search and find for the net again and when it's activate again the adsl line i'll come back to ryzom (put it in background) but it's show me the "net problem" window again.
Game freeze there and no one sign of life from the window who show me the traffic packet.

The last resource is to break down the game via task manager -.-
So, the main problem is that there isn't a way to "refresh" the game or back to character selection, neither to exit game (logout progress bar is freezed to countdown at "0").

I hope this help to fix this problem..... and sorry for my not very good english :P

Nope.. The "gaming" traffic is UDP based therefor a total renewal of your networking neighborhood -a modem reset is just that because usually IPs get reassigned by your provider- cannot be compensated by the client. It will simply not be able to reroute on its own. No clientside UDP application can ;)
In regular networking life that isn't much of a problem, though.

Instead of the TM you could also have quit SoR by hitting the "Quit Now".
