Macro help

Post by fiach »

I forget how to do macros and I need help on one type please :)

I want to assist another player vs a particular mob, its tedious to right click the player and choose assist, then cast the spell, i would like to click on the player then a macro that will cast the spell on hot key 1 at the target the player is fighting. Or even a macro that uses their name.

Thanks :)

well you can always type /assist - but i gues sthats not what you are after.

Open you macro window (shift-K for older players, dont knwo what it it for new players)

then go

NEW ACTION.

assin a key

in the top box select ACTIONS
then there shouls be "Target your current targets target"

Then save that macro!

all done

Pls note this is from memory and may not be 100% accurate ;)

You could even use "Target the entity's target" to target the target of a specified player, so all you have to do is press the macro's key.

Actually you can go a step or two further..

actions->target entities target (enter person your assisting's name)
actions->run shortcut (select shortcut # to activate)
1-10 is the top row, 11-20 is the bottom row

if you might be on the wrong bar, you can use select shortcut bar to switch to the correct one before you do the run shortcut

'K' should open your key settings ... on my new character the macros page isn't set so you may have to set it up.

and if you want to be really lazy.......

target an entety
say /follow
target current targets target
run shortcut

one button does all. if the entity kills something and decides to move then you will just go on follow

very usefull for cping somone since you can pretty much afk do it. just need to keep pressing the right button

for a generically useful macro, i use "target teammember 1", and then target targets target.. ( I also have them as individual macros too )

another is a macro to say "/follow"

If you hunt with the same people most of the time you may want to put them into macros by name.. target an entity "name"

Too add a little complication to the now too simple topic...
Target the current target's target (what a line of words...) is a regular keybind even, always was... no need to macro that one alone ;)

I have to do CTRL+K to open mine.

then make a macro like :

ACTIONS : Target entity's target (enter a name)
ACTIONS : Select shortcut bar
ACTIONS : Run Shortcut

I m sure this one works I use tons of this kind :)
