Other than that it's entirely accurate you mean?
Odds are the people involved in it can't see how they act, it takes an outside viewpoint.

Many Other games who have PvP content have the luxury of multiple servers, RP, PvE, PvP etc..
With Ryzom it's a one shot deal.....mess up our server and all lose out.
And if there is doubt that PvP 'expansion' will harm Ryzom I hold the opinion it should be limited.

My personal experiences of PvP (not in Ryzom) are..... "I would have won if you did not use (secial skill)"
"I will only dulz U if U don't heal"
"I waz lagged out when U Db's me U ********"
or my personal favourite "don't defend I want to see if I can kill U".

I prefer PvE because the AI never complains when I kill it ;)
Experience is essential.....Wisdom is priceless.

so as I PvP I dont want a challenge? I dont purposly pick fights with people who I know can fight back because my only desire is to win win win.

incorrect bar the part about me wanting to win. Generally and a few people can vouch for this I pick fights in yrk. to get this going I usually find sehraci and kill (seems the most common anyways). This leads to all manner of karavan who are higher or equal level to me porting in, generally those who like PvP too. We then fight back and forth trying to find the right team combination to take the other out and I can assure you its a hell of a lot more challenging then pulling 1 najab after the next.

This is NOT infringing on yours or anyone elses gameplay, we dont smacktalk in region generally, most of it is good natured (sure we have a little love/hate thing going) and we most of all consider it Fun.

whats wrong with that jy?

you cant say I dont seek a challenge, the reapers in general are formidable opponents, so are the ootn that turn up regularly. If you think its the "easy" brownie points game I like to see you try to take them down.

all players are tagged therefore we CHOOSE to PvP, One of them might pass me in roots one day and gank me, so what we are enemies in a factional sense.

I dont like arguing with you on this forum at all because I think your an ok guy, but occasionally you throw out the most myopic BS.

You might be the holy grail of an exception to the observation, but I doubt it. Those town battles have turned to smack talk while I've been around them before and the flying spells and effects going off do seem to cause some graphical strain in the overpopulated city areas as well, especially where there are also forage sources popping up, so even that does affect other people.

I note you also choose the least obstrusive of the PvP options to harp on about specifically over the other ones.

I really wish we did have servers more seperated by gamestyle than language, or that the US server had never merged.

your original argument was PvP players dont seek a challenge, they like easy kills etc etc etc *bs*. now your moving to a different point?

jeez we cause lag.............omg cancel invasions, cancel digging man them sources popping cause hell, cancel groups of more than 10 people...........what a pointless issue. Maybe the smacktalk is because your in region?

I was addressing your point here.

Covering your point that you raised, not changing tack purposefully.

so your original point was disproved?

your arguments about our yrk fights being bad are

lag. RP events in yrk cause lag, cancel them?
smack talk, quite rare between the players I fight

anything else?

Not until I witness this mythical 'nice' PvP that allegedly goes on, no. Evidence will need to be found first.

You argued that the running town battles that erupt occasionally don't disrupt anyone's experience in any way, deliberately choosing the least disruptive of the existing PvP encounters yet I can show negative impact from that. To which your answer is to throw up an erroneous comparison with large RP events etc.

I've got an open mind, I'm happy to be proven wrong but that's dependent on actually being proven wrong.

but when the outside viewpoint is as skewed as those in the PvP, the issue is moot. You've made it very clear that you're against pvp and thus you'd have a negative opinion of it no matter what.

As for not seeking a challenge, I too have to say what a bunch of BS... I pvp to have an enjoyable fight. Trash talking has nothing to do with how challenging a fight is. Is it part of PvP? usually, yes. Does it make a fight more enjoyable? it can do. Shutting someone up who had been bragging or mocking you is quite a enjoyable. But I don't pvp to win. If I did, I'd of never entered the 2hand gladiator league well before I'd hit pikeman. I enjoy learning an opponents moves, countering, having a fight that lasts to the last drop of hp/stam/sap. If I wanted to win I'd go round duel challenging all the newbies as they came of the island. That'd make me feel real powerful, one shotting them.
But I don't. I want a challenge. If its a good, challenging fight, I don't care who wins.

guess you missed the gladiator league matches. But then again, you're not a pvp fan, so no surprise. PvP won't come find you to show itself off to you. You have to go find it. And so basing all PvPers off the little contact you've had with them isn't exactly fair

Well... you just pwned him. ;)

@topic

NO - wouldn't fit into Ryzom and would pretty sure be implemented without fixing the failures that they made with this kind of systems in other games...

So... Tiger, if you like to be UBER for a while, have fun in WoW :)
