The Kami vs Karavan situation?

Yea the question is kinda wide, and i'am after both an political veiw and a game mechanic view.

I really tried to stay OOC in my response since there are a slew of threads with all the bias you could ever wish for already. There is no right or wrong and little reason to choose a side unless the teleports seduce you or you want to play a certain way. The game mechanics are quite loose and you will have to decide how you want to play it to bring yourself the most enjoyment. The game doesn't force much on you and you will probably be suprised to see homins "following" a faction siding with the opposing side against others in their faction. It's a bit loopy gameplay wise but you do have that freedom, the game carries no penalty for not playing your choice.

Really the point is not _everything_ is about Faction vs Faction. The game is more than just a simple 2 sided (or 3 if you count neutrals) viewpoint.

The guild vs guild system is in place for its own reasons, and it _is_ guild vs guild in game mechanics, not FvF, no matter how much you try and pretend it isnt.

The truth is you have a lot of freedom to adapt, follow, or disregard the politics as you prefer. Thats part of the fun of Ryzom, the wide range of choices you get available.

only a tryker could create a thread such as this talk to other tryer guilds, start up conversations, see what they say, in my experience the tryker ideal of life is diffent from the lore. Speak to the guild leaders, they will be happy to discuss things with you.

Reading the lore I agreed more with the Karavan point of view.

They have all the same things available to them. Only differences are occasionally the skin on an item, or the locations of alters are in different spots in a zone (though each have one alter in every zone)

Edit: The best lore to get the point of views of the higher powers is to read the panels at the temples.

Just like in Real Life, it depends entirely on your personal views, or rather those of your charakter, if you´re into RP.
If not, then simply choose whatever sides looks you like best, or their Playernumbers, or whatever it is YOU feel like.
Almost nobody did choose the side he´s on for the same reasons as any other person. We cannot make any choice for you.

It's in game. There are temples near the capitals: Karavan by Yrkanis and Fairhaven, Kami by Pyr and Zora.
