They just need to get that second patch out. Get the story and missions in place and a few bugs fixed. Then slam it hard with advertising and stratagies. They are very close to that second patch. It's still a great game now but now is not the time to promote it hard until those few things are polished and done. That will have a much bigger impact on people and the gaming community. And it will be ready to go full steam.

PC Gamer is currently scheduled to review SoR in their next issue.

Slaval...Lineage 2?

Yeah I played that game... I am cancelling that game. Not because of the game... Other factors. ;) Ill leave it at that because I think the PR Team has a nice positive vibe here and dont want to ruin it with negativity of PR Deptarments that dont understand that concept. ;)

We had mentioned getting the game in stores like EBgames and Gamestop. Lo' & behold, I find 2 boxes sitting on EBgames shelves (which I carefully rearranged so that the front of the box was showing :D ) and also one box sitting on Gamestop's (very tiny) PC section shelf.

We had also brought forward the point that there weren't too many reviews in the popular gaming sites such as IGN.com. Now I'm not sure if Nevrax called up IGN to invite them to review the game, but it's now up there and on front page of pc.IGN.com's site in full feature. Despite the half-arsed review done by IGN on the game, it's still out there.

So far, so good Nevvy my friends. Keep up the hard work! I'm starting to notice a change in the way PR is handling things. But will this be enough?

I'd say get some free trials out there and that could further help the cause!

(Now if only Nevrax wuold accept American Express cards :( )

Actually review sites like IGN and Gamespot have all been following Ryzom since at least winter of last year. I heard about the game through a preview that IGN did about christmas time last year.

I tend to agree with several people here. I think Nevrax is better to wait until they have the 1st Patch.. maybe even the 2nd patch in place and everything more "tied down" before they start inviting people en masse.

As it stands, the number of threads will likely multiply, as will the negative and positive posts, the flame wars, etc.. I do not envy Cerest when that happens... but hey, man.. we're all behind ya! 8-) Okay.. I know I am, anyway.

But I think at the end of it all, Ryzom will pick up a nice player population of folks who will stick around and keep playing. Those who it doesn't quite suit will go on to wait for EQ2 or WoW or Wish or Dark-And-Light or Guild Wars or whatever else there is coming on the horizon...

I'm eager to see if I'm right in my prediction that Ryzom will develop a player base not dissimlar from Anarchy Online's.

Trust me when I say the first patch isn't going to make that huge of a difference in the quality of the game (at least not from what I have seen on the test server). That's not to say it's bad or that the devs haven't worked hard on it, it's just that there really is no major content upgrades so to speak.

Ahhh I was on Bartz... :) Yeah I am enjoying Ryzom too. :) If things change over there I might go back but I dont see that happening anytime soon. So I think I will enjoy Ryzom and more over the PR/CS and overall community. :)
