We're on page 10 of people trying to show you what you can do with what is available, making suggestions, and then trying to understand why you keep arguing about things that aren't going to change any time soon.

You are not going to get /dance2 for some time, not without cutting development time away from the things that players, who have been here longer than either one of us, are waiting for.

What's the point in arguing about it?

How could I demand these things? I have no power to force the developers to do anything. The suggestion that I'm 'demanding' is ludicrous.

Welcome to Ryzom Beeryusa, you cannot find your dancing here, but I hope you do gain the skill sometime..I will be one of the first to buy a ticket to see your show :) .

Seems a kind of elitist attitude to me. So if a new player came in with a brilliant idea that would make the game a lot better, you'd argue against it because the player was too new? That doesn't seem logical.

Because things could be changed soon, but with the "can't do" attitude shown in this thread they never will be. The things we're talking about are desirable, so why not suggest improvementsa and let the developers decide what they want to spend time on?

And sure, there have been suggestions made that would help me to do certain things that look entertaining, but none of them are musical and none of them are really dances. It's like a guy going into a restaurant and ordering chicken. The server says he doesn't know if they serve chicken, but he'll see what he can do. A little while later he brings a platter of beef. When the customer complains that it's not chicken the server tells him that it only costs $15 and anyway beef tastes a bit like chicken.

Those aren't demands. All I'm saying in those quotes is that I won't pay to play without entertainer content. That's not a demand: it's a statement of fact. You are mischaracterizing my position because you see my unwillingness to pay for a lack of my preferred playstyle as a demand. A demand is a request made as if it's a right. I have made no demands.

Surely players have a right to withhold money from a developer who doesn't offer the experience they want. To refuse to buy a product you don't want is not 'demanding'. To suggest changes to make it what you want is not 'demanding'. These are things that all reasonable people should do. Those who pay to play a game despite the fact that the game doesn't suit them are called idiots. Those who refuse to suggest things that will make a game suit them better are similarly foolish.

It seems clear to me that my opponents in this argument are just upset that I choose to argue forcefully for my desires. Oh dear, what a shame, never mind. Those who don't argue forcefully for their desires will never get what they want and don't deserve to get what they want.

Heck, you even say you agree with my goals, yet you seem to think that if you just shut up about it and keep everyone else who has similar desires quiet, those goals will get achieved all by themselves as if by magic. I don't know what fantasy world you're living in, but in this world the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

You say the difference between you and me is that you suggest while I demand. That's not the difference. In fact the real difference is that I care if this stuff is added and you don't. You've said that you'll come to a performance if the devs put entertainer content in the game, but that's as far as you go. If they don't put it in you won't care. As such, you're not really a proponent of entertaining in this game. In effect you're against it because you don't think it's important enough to even lobby for. Show me one post made before this thread came into being where you've actively asked for entertainer content to be added to the game. That will show me whether you want it or not. I think you're a hypocrite. Prove me wrong.

I am not arguing against the idea... never said that. What I have repeated about 407654 times, and which you have systematically ignored, is that there are more pressing things needing development. The features needing development are essential features for the existing player base, and there are requests from people who have PAID their subscription fees for much longer than I have.

Arguing about a feature you aren't going to get due to development budget/time constraints and the current development schedule isn't logical. I'm not an elitist... far from it. If you had actually read my posts, you would have seen that I would prefer existing content be completed, scheduled development be developed... THEN work on adding /dance2 or new clothing, etc.

"Can't do" attitude? That made me laugh out loud. :D Being Monday, and I am at work, thank you for that.

The developers have already decided what they are going to work on. They have Ryzom Ring, Spires, some bug/exploit fixes, and there are a lot of existing features which need fine tuning/finishing.

If I went into a restaurant where chicken wasn't on the menu and ordered chicken, the waiter would inform me that they didn't serve chicken.

I didn't see chicken on the menu when I registered. Did you?

Making suggestions means contacting the development staff and providing an idea. You decided to argue with players about it instead.

It's obvious this thread isn't going to provide an answer to your desires beery, and it's definitely becoming engulfed in flames.

I think it's best we walk away from it before things get REALLY out of hand.

You're assuming I play the game. I gave up when it became clear to me that it didn't suit my playstyle.

I have never flamed anyone. All the flames are coming from your side of the discussion.

If you aren't even playing the game, there is no point in continuing this. Let's just let it die, and move on. I am unsubscribing from this thread.
