Ive been thinking about this for a while. I don't know if anyone else has tried this but I think I might have found a way to control monsters. So please, save all critisism, mockings, and scorn.
Here we go!
Ok, what if you used a combination of fear, taunt, sleep, and speed up power?
Step one - find an agro mob and use taunt to lure one enemy out
Step two - you will probably need a friend to help you with this part, use a combination of fears between the two (or more) to work the monster towards your destination
Step three - once your creature arrives at the entended spot hit it with sleep, i suggest all people helping do this to ensure it stays put
Step four - RUN!! use speed up power to get the heck out of there
Outcome - if this works the monster should wake up and attack the nearest enemy
Ok, Ive never actually tried this or even heard of it, this would mostly be effective in factoin pvps i would think, where you could bring herds of high level mobs to drop off on the other faction.
I hope this works, if anyone tries it, tell me the results or what you think of this page.
Good luck!!

Re: Herding - A Possible Way To Control Pets For Combat
there is a much easier way to get mobs onto the other faction
simply run past the agro mobs and run towards the opposition faction.
If the distance is small enough u can just run past
if the distance is greater and you would lose agro by running, you can hav a low power affliction enchant on your weapon and just use that every so often to keep agro.
this works best by using large numbers of agro mobs, and by using speed up just before getting to the opposite faction with maybe a protection aura so you dont get nuked to bits.

Hate to nuke your idea - although I'm quite sure that it's meant ironically anyway...
Just two thoughts:
Just two thoughts:
- Aren't feared mobs always escaping into a single direction? Eastwards if possible, or some like that?
- Since training mobs against others is illegal (at least it is very clearly on Leanon), rephrasing the act to "pet control for combat" won't be changing the deed...

I believe it has been stated (at least for Arispotle) that aggro-training is a perfectly viable tactic. I may be wrong.xolghost wrote:...Since training mobs against others is illegal (at least it is very clearly on Leanon)...

Here's Souls' thread concerning OP fight tactics and their legality. (I confess that I've not followed Arispotle's all way through, I'd be very surprised if the official statements at the end were applying double standards, though. <-- I just corrected this *g*)

At least now I did follow that thread's discussionSoulsnatcher, SrGM, same thread wrote:[...]While neutrals should not aggro drag to OP battles, I see no justification for it to be used in an OP battle, so I think a blanket policy on it is best to avoid our usual posse of loophole exploiters.[...]

Yeah. But I meant more in terms of outpost battles, PvP events, that sort of thing. I suppose it could be filed under harassment to just do it during normal play. That argument has been had on these forums a bunch of times though, I'm not going to repeat any more

I stand corrected. Apologies for the wrong information. By the sounds of it, policy changed there, I'm sure at the time of the old lands the GMs weren't against it, but clearly now, they are.xolghost wrote:Here's Souls' thread concerning OP fight tactics and their legality. In the old lands it was considered a valid tactic and used to be used in OP fights.nillian wrote:Yeah. But I meant more in terms of outpost battles, PvP events, that sort of thing. Souls stopped the aggro dragging with that letter, however, Fearing a mob onto the opposing team is still allowed. thats not an aggro drag and takes some skill to do (if it doesn't aggro them, then it comes back onto the caster). Just have to hope that the enemy is standing to the East for it to work.
