That IS the first time I heard anyone complain about the backstory. The saga is quite clever and I hope we will see space and the second planet and maybe the homins will be put in huge Karavan sweatshops and making Karavan capes and cloaks.
Roleplay is best when it is integrated in the world, instead of floating on top. Making 250 levels of useless (within game mechanics) clothes would be highly unsatisfying.
Please, give Ryzom a chance instead of trying to recreate a memory from a galaxy far, far away.

The only way I could consider clothing and dance emotes 'essential' and expect nevrax to prioritise their development is if we didnt have either. But as it stands, im stood in the fount, in a fetching Medium Armour, pain stakingly crafted by Sehraci, dancing for joy.
I really dont see how expanding our wardrobes and ability to sway back and forth could ever be considered the most important problem/failing.

While I completely disagree with the whole "Ryzom has no depth" statement earlier (first time).
They only way I can possibly think of reconciling this with my experiences is
a) No quests - while quests are good for getting the "lore" to the players I do share the majority of the server's (forum's? ) aversion to repetative "Go kill the dragon and save the princess! You're the only one who can do it until the next person clicks on me!" quests, so its kind of a complicated thing to get right. I did like the quests on Silan (even tho they were a tiny bit "Kill the dragon" at one point I think) so if they could carry that across into the main game I think I could bear it.
b) With the exception of Silan and the few rites, the majority of the lore is on the website and made/written by the players here on the forums. Now while this could be understood as being like a library (why would someone be standing around telling you about stuff every homin should know from birth?) it can mean that people who "pay to play, not to read websites" might not get the full experience. Not to mention the fact that the lore on the site keeps changing
Now I think this thread is way offtrack now, so I dunno if someone wants to make a new thread about this issue?
