I see the problem with the ranged, in so far as there isnt enough people to make it a class in itself. So throwing them in with the melee is the only way. Its unfair either way, if they can run round in circles firing, theyll never get hit, if they stand still, they will be slaughtered. So its a loose loose situation.

I do agree with tirgrus on the gear though, i dont think gear should be limited in any way either, or it defeats the point of collecting it.

Il take a RL example.
Ive been doing martial arts for years. Still am.
Competing in huge contests in full contact taekwondo.
When i am fighting. The rules say full contact against head and body.
If i kick a guy in the head. he might be able to stand and fight still.
But if i intentionally aim for his nose, he will break it. Clouding his vision. Making me able to aim BETTER at his head and knocking him.

Fair? Definately not.

But i win.
Mind here though: This is a tactic that ive never used. I just know people that have. Ive fought them. (and i won ).

Another tactic:
If i score alot of points (you get points by kicking him in the west so hard that the judges see a reaction in him).
And say the score is 12-5...

Will i keep fighting? nope.
Il basicly "dance" around him just throwing quick kicks to make it seem so im not running. And il draw the time out.
Fair? Not even close.
Annoying? hell yes.

But i won. I am the best fighter of the 2 of us. BECAUSE i used the skills i have in a correct way. Not fair way. But a way that was within the rules. And that made certain i won.

And thats my point.

I think they should be allowed to run and kite.
But if they used a speed exploit to be able to fire multiple shots. THAT shouldnt be allowed.

I see what you mean, but like in any sport you use tactics to win because it is apart of how the sport has progressed and how people have thought about the ways in which to win. The BEST not necessarly the best fighter is the one who uses his intelligence to win.
In boxing, the person with the largest reach would use that to his advantage, making his tactics the best.

Personally thought i believe, any armour or weapons should be allowed, but as for Ranged i think you have it spot on.

I understand your point of view LT..
But it would be impossible to do this in a tournament environment..
I believe this is the fairest manageble way to find the best 1 on 1 pvpper overall.

OK. heres the deal. when the DEV's make it so you have to face your oponent to shoot at him - then everything will be fair. its ludicris that you run away pointing your gun forwards and shooting (and hitting) a target thats on your 6 (behind you).

I do think that this tournement will be a load of fun. i asked Shadoweb for sum Kittin larva but i dont run in circles with the cool kids (event guides) to get hold of such a thing.

anyways. a New thread will appear in a a week or so, now that i know i have easily enough interest from people.
