By no means should a quest based reward replace player crafted items. That is the great failing of most quest based games. There is no reason that I can think of, however, to remove all aspects of questing from a game because some people won't do them.pietes wrote:I don't know Ryzom well yet, but my instinct would be to be glad that there are no quests on the mainland. I plan on working the encyclopedia missions as often as possible, because I find the lore interesting. I would love to see the encyclopedia line continued and expanded.
I personally would not want to see missions/quests begin popping up that would replace player crafted equipment or player dug materials. There are other ways to reward players for completing a quest.
But... personally... as long as they don't start removing things from the game, I'm currently happy.
