No, kevinw, you don't have to have a paid account.
The number of posts here by people who have not yet even downloaded the game is evidence of that
But I think after subscribing if your payment then lapses then you might get locked out
Did you all assume that kevinw was still unsubscribed?

As jamela said if you have a subscribed account and when the subscription expires, your posting privileges will go with it. As Nevrax says, forums, ATS testers access and support are part of their service i.e. for paying customers.
