Age related question...
How old am I?? I believe it can be safely assumed that when I emerged onto the ruins of Silan, I had already been alive for some time, yet no one on Atys seems to be clear what age they are, or how age is marked at all. I've asked if ages are calculated by turns of the seasons, or by revolutions around the sun. I've asked what the name for those ages would be; ei: "I am 19 turns/ages old".
I was told to come see you fine folks here, that you would be able to peirce this cloud of confusion concerning a rough guess upon my age. For surely, I cannot simply determine that information without your aid.

Re: Age related question...
i guess it is really up to the way you rp the game and what backstory you make for you charachter as to how old you are when you arrive. my character for example is very old. there are differnt hairstyles that allow you to make yourself look older or younger

Re: Age related question...
K, so if I have this right, time is four times faster here on Atys than it was on our ancient home world, thus I am 19 years (Jena years) old and will turn 20 in another two cycles. I base this on the fact that I have only seen my second winter on Atys, and know I must weather two more to complete a year. But all of this again depends on whether I've got my facts straight... so do I?
Re: Age related question...
I think you probably do.
The official answer is that Homins age like humans, and have a similar lifespan.
However, my character would be centuries old by now. Obvoiusly, we have to ignore certian game mechanics in order to have a beliveable game world.
Time is one of those mechanics.

Re: Age related question...
When Ryzom started it was 2525, in Jena years.
It is now 2534.
Assuming those of us oldies who were around at startup had characters around 18 years old then, they would now be 27.

Re: Age related question...
Keep in mind that cycles are not the same as years. Four seasons = one cycle, four cycles = one Jena Year. Each year (JY) lasts two months.mrshad wrote:I think you probably do.
