Sounds like it might be time to do a fresh install of the game if networking checks out. Over a span of 18 months there can be problems that creep in. Some have found that a defrag fixes things. Also try a 'check data' and if worse comes to worse rename the SAVE folder.

i dident have this problem until i did reinstalled it.
Its like hit and miss I will get it to load some times and other times it freezes on last block.

after further testing my regular toon will load on main land i just cant load on newbie island.
