Spires

Post by cloudy97 »

I can't find the old discussion since the forum update, but would like to know a few things about Spires PVP which I think can be very fun if done right.

1) Is Spires a racial PVP affair - or another Kami/Karavan thingie?
2) If so, are the buffs/debuffs relative to racial fame or static (all with same Civ as the Spire get buff, everyone else debuffs)?
3) If it's not about race/civ - what use is the civilisation allegiance in gameplay?

Another Kami/Karavan thingie ;)

Racial state has no effect, as I understand it.

As far as I can see, the only effect that civ allegiance has is to change the max fame that you can obtain with the various races and so change the max price of things that you buy/sell at the vendors.
Although it might also allow you to get other races fame low enough that the guards will kill you on site (I can't remember if this is the case and if you need to have a race alignment to do it or whether you can do it as a neutral race) :D

same as DP, spires are nothing to be afraid of.
spires are missing part of TP system atm. if devs do cancel them, then i, neutral, want my pr tp's back.

It's not that I'm afraid of it, it's more that I don't like the design idea of putting in a another pvp system when the great saga hides somewhere in the basement.

As a pro PvP player I personally think spires are the most ill-concieved things that could be added to this game.

everyone has an opinion tho right.....

I think they are dandy, at least before I get to try it out. I think it gives folks more reason to PvP. It affects everyone of a faction by removing their ability to TP into a region. That is if I recall correctly.

I think the buff de-buff should be for all aligned though, not just tagged folks. This way it gets the pacifists to round up the troops to get their TP or Buff back.

Seems it could be a huge boost for Soloing too.

I think that when they put Spires in, they should also give us the ability to have more than one mount.

Or a big horn to blow to get your mount to come to your position, and a mount armor crafting branch. The armor could be speed and protection affecting, the ability to buff and heal your Mount.

While we are at it, a mount should be totally treated as the same aggro rules as the owner.
