This game reminds me alot of AC and I loved AC. I cannot even describe how much fun I am having in this game as compared to DAOC. The community is great, and there is always something to do. If you dont like SoR then simply dont play it. Coming here and complaining about it isnt going to change anyones opinions. You either like it or you dont so if you dont like it move on and save your words for something meaningful.

and lastly.. nevrax is not Blizzard.. they cannot compete with a Blizzard team..
I'm a moron? I'm not the one who hates a game, yet feels the need to post on it's boards. And your right Nevrax is not Blizzard.

WoW to be very blunt is the same old fantasy crap that is out there now. There is NO creativity in having races of trolls, orcs, gnomes, and elves. It's all been done before 10 million times. The game itself is the same crap that you can find a thousand times over. This is where Ryzom will get its playerbase. From people who want something new, something different, and something refreshing.

So save yourself the time and energy of comming here and saying how Ryzom should be like WoW. It shouldn't nor will it ever be. To put it simply if you want to play WoW, then play WoW. Don't expect every other game on the planet to try to be WoW.

I'm currently in the Closed Beta for WoW.

WoW will launch missing alot of the "promised by launch" content. There is no two ways about it. Most of the Horde content will not be in the game at launch. Many quests are broken (both Alliance and Horde), or have text in the name like <Needs Reward>. Many of the Classes are unfinished, Paladins and Hunters being the big two there. 7 of the 8 Races do not have Racial Abilities implemented. They are being forced to launch prior to having a more complete game by SOE's EQ2, and of course Vivendi, who desparately need the Q4 earnings from a pre-Xmas launch to show to their stockholders, and investors.

Please do not think that just because you are bored while the WoW servers are currently down (Yes, they just crashed and the problem is still as yet unknown) that you are welcome to post negatively about Ryzom. It reflects badly on the WoW community as a whole, and if there is one thing that Blizzard does not need, it is to be associated with people like you, as a "spokesperson".

<Hands out the Excedrin Migrane>

If this "my game is better than your game" stuff doesn't stop then I'll just close the thread. There is nothing constructive about this thread anyway.

If the original poster didn't find the game to live up to his standards then so be it. Just be on your merry way. Please stop debating that WoW or EQ2 is/or isn't complete or better/isn't better than SoR. I think I can speak for all the moderators on this forum that it's getting old.

haha I gurantee you AC1 has ALOT more subscribers than Ryzom will ever have.
You are kidding right? For the past 4-5 months logging into servers on AC the population has been 3-400 people on most servers. Take off the bots and unattended macroers and multi-clienters and you'd be lucky if there was more than 3000 actual people playing AC these days.

Lets look at how good AC is - this is merely as a response to an earlier post, you won't find me trolling AC forums posting this - Worthless quests for some useless trinkets, towns are dead and there are far too many selfish idiots in the game. The prevelance of macroers and 3rd party apps demonstrates how mundane the game is - the hunting process is so dull people have to leave their computers to play the game for them - and it has simply become a race to have the highest imaginary level (how can you be level 220 when the cap is 126?). Even saying Hello to someone is dodgy in AC - macro reporting paranoia means most people will read "Hello" as "I'm checking to see whether you are a cheating". AC has been rotting for a long time, most of the good people left a year ago and it has gone downhill since. Even the developers have lost the plot, altering the game to the call of whoever shouts loudest for a change, only to change it back again when more people complain about the change. The upcoming expansion will be a desperate attempt to give it the kiss of life, but upping the level cap and adding a few new graphics textures isn't going to do much.

Hence why I'm giving Ryzom a shot. A few days in and it's been a lot of fun, no grief, plenty of people to talk to and hunt with, and I love the way you can level skills independently of each other. Also, I don't think you can see other people's levels (just titles) so there's no juvenile uberness or e-peen contest over who has the highest number. I also love the endless options on the skill tree - no need to pick a particular template or have different characters to do different jobs, you can be anything and/or everything if you have enough time. In most MMOs hunting is the bread and butter of the game and you can't progress without it, in SoR it really is optional as you don't need to hunt to raise your non-combat skills. Lots of fun and no hassles so far - I have a feeling this could be the game for me.
