A treatise on neutrality
Homins of Atys,
A moment of your time, if you will.
After listening to both the followers of Ma-Duk, and the followers of Jena, I have made a solemn pledge to reject both of them, and remain truly neutral. I urge all free thinking Homins to consider my stance, and if you see merit in it, turn aside from these two "deities".
We hear of the suposed animosity between the two of them, I will not be a pawn in their private little war. To Ma-Duk and to Jena, I say if you have a difference of opinion, fight it out between the two of you, but do not drag the rest of us into your petty little squabble.
You both promise us "a better Atys." I respond that we, the four races of Hominkind, could do a perfectly good job on our own, if the two of you had not driven a wedge between our peoples.
Finally, I felt the pain of Queen Lea, when her son was kidnapped. Who would not, knowing that she might never see him alive again. Through all the time between his disappearance, and final recovery How much help did she get from Jena?.
NONE! None whatsoever. How can anyone offer any alliegance to a deity that turns their back on them in their darkest hour of need?
This will sound completely heretical to many. But think on it. Read what is here, and ask yourself if it is true or not. Then make your decision.

Re: A treatise on neutrality
It is called faith, dear Homin. I understand that a person does not need to actually fight for their deity, but some have faith that their deity will be there when the time is right.tannack wrote:How can anyone offer any alliegance to a deity that turns their back on them in their darkest hour of need?
OOC: The same could be for Christians who have utter faith in God, but nothing has ever been shown to them, and they have had a horrible life.

Jena's sister was there to help release the queens son, please don't forget that.
So the first statement is not true.

Certainly an honorable position to take Xanthia. I can agree with you from a philosophical perspective. However, what is one to do when one's motherland (or their brother's motherland) is being invaded and occupied? It may be that the aggressors have no evil intention and may be acting according to what they believe is in the best interest of all. Nevertheless, is it not one's duty in those circumstances to resist?

Do not forget what both Ma-Duk and Jena teach their students...balance. Where one might raise the sword and the other take other means, both fight against the chaos below. Most ignore the prophesy or have forgotten it. Hear me homin, do not forget what can destroy us all.
It walks the deepest of roots now. You can hear it pacing from the Ruins of Silan. It's roar silencing even the howling of the Kipee.
Ma-Duk seeks the chaos with sword in hand. Jena prepares with her words of power. Those of you who do not believe the words of either, what say you about the 6 terrors? The DRAGON?
Do not forget...never forget

Re: A treatise on neutrality
Let us not forget that it is the Karavan and Kami that have split the worshippers apart. In their own way, Jena and Ma-duk have been made pawns in a battle between these two outsiders.
As Fyros, I bow to none. I respect both and the balance between the two. They ask for no tribute and I provide none beyond the use of my sword to protect their land and their legacy.
It's a shame that our culture has been stolen and twisted by the K* to support their own agendas. It's also unfortunate that the schism has turned so many from a faith that has carried us back from the brink of extinction.
One day these battles will be forgotten and we will return to the peace and balance of old. Until then, may your fires burn brightly in these times of darkness.

So you don't call the temples built in their names a tribute? Or do you simply not know of them because you've been away?rhaenaan wrote: They ask for no tribute

Re: A treatise on neutrality
You miss my point Philu. I have not seen Jena or Ma-duk emerge from the Mist demanding these tributes. I have seen no true Homin acolyte of Jena (ie: one that has not been indoctrinated by the Karavan) proclaim her to be the leader of the Karavan. All I have seen is two warring alien factions using our own lore to polarize us against our fellow Homin.philu wrote:Jena IS a Karavan, she's their supreme commander.

I can not beleive that the true Jena and Ma-duk would have anything to do with those that would suck the lifesap from our world.
I do not claim to know the truth. All I suggest is that we not blindly accept what the Kami and Karavan would have us beleive. They have agendas that may or may not be in the best interests of Atys or Hominkind.
In my heart I beleive that the Lord and Lady would not turn us against one another. I do not beleive that they would tear our world apart in a war between those that were likely not even the seed of Atys.
I do not have enough proof to suggest turning against either faction. Instead, I will watch. The fire burns brightest when the hearth is laid carefully.

Re: A treatise on neutrality
The powers like it or not are really the only reason homins exist on Atys, the kitin stired by homins, would have destryed all homin existance if not for the intervention of the powers.
Trykers were liberated from the Matis at the behest of the Karavan.
Karavan and Kami have taught and provided homins sciences, technology and knowledge that allows us to prosper (magnestism, harnessing winds, fire, genetics, construction, teleportaion, resurrection, healing).
One cannot ignore a war between them, as it will effect all of Atys and its future, only the victor of the conflict will decide the future progress of Atys.
Neutrality is turning a blind eye to the obvious struggle that will effect you, homins began to find this after the temples were constructed when the powers restricted universal teleport access, as the war intensifies so will the polarity of the factions, and the consequences to those who don't fight for them.
A faction is a broad as those within its ranks, there are zealots and moderates, the resulting world is their vision, if you wish your vision in that too, the only option is the faction most adaptable to your beliefs.
