I downloaded the trial last night, and after a couple of hours I'm beginning to get a grip of Ryzom. I'm an old SWG veteran looking for a new home, and I like what I see so far
However, I have a few questions
1, since this is a game of immersion and RP, are there any camps or fireplaces that the player can put up in the middle of nowhere? Camping was a feature in old SWG that I liked (and used) alot, and I think it is crucial to immersion in an RPG-game.
2, how extensive is player housing? Again, this is a big feature in SWG, where you could decorate your house any way you wanted it. How advanced is this in Ryzom?
3, are all instances and ecosystems available from the start, or do you have to do certain quests to be able to i.e. travel down to the primal roots?
4, I've noticed a variety in armors, but can you craft/buy normal clothes to wear just for looks?
Thanks!
A few newbie questions
Re: A few newbie questions
Welcome to Atys
1. No, you can't make them yourself. You will find abandoned campsites scattered about the place as permanent features, however.
2. You can have only one apartment per character, noone else may enter and you may not modify it. Their style varies only according to the capital city in which they are sited. Their primary function then, is storage.
3. Yes, all available. You'll need 60 Fame with either K before you can buy prime roots teleport pacts, but walking or riding is more fun than selling your soul to the Ks anyway.
4. Why else does anyone wear armour but for the looks? No, all clothing is called armour of some sort.

Thank you for the answers!
I must say I'm a bit surprised and a bit dissapointed that no form of camping exists. It should be an obvious thing in a game like this. This is something I could post about in the "Feedback" forum though.
