Gads! Its nice to know I'm not the only "oldster" here! Any body else play the original "Adventure" online game back in the mid-'70's? It was on DTSS as I recall, along with one of the original "Chat" programs...

"TUNNELS AND TROLLS" rules and adventures were printed before D&D.
I will pull them out of the attic tomorrow and read them again....it is years since I opened them.

EDIT.....almost forgot..........WELCOME TO RYZOM WOLVIE AND KITKAT *canine and feline ?..the Karma is balanced* :D

Pah, D&D a 'strategic wargame'? Ptooie! May have come out of fantasy wargames and may be headed miniature-wards again (blummin' Hasbro) but not really a wargame, or strategic.

It's got to be Dangerous Journeys or Lejendary Adventurs (sic) hasn't it? If it's Cyborg Commando someone's in for a slap :P

Hmm, D&D was printed first 1971, and Tunnels and Trolls was printed 1975 if I remember right. ( Not that I played these games in that years. I'm old, but not that old ;) )

T&T was '74 IIRC.
*checks* No, '75-76 depending who you ask.

I myself am 36 yrs old and have been role playing since GaryGygaxx (cookies for anyone who actually knows who that is ;) and have been playing video games since pong was brought home(again cookies)
Look forward to many adventures with all of you!

Hah!! Got you beat by four years!! (Will be 40 this year). I remember Greyhawk. It was the best land to adventure in so long ago. I got my basic D&D set in 1979 and have been merrily playing RPG's since...

I also sense the more mature quality of the player base here on Ryzom. You still get some "problem children" on the newbie island (which is where I still am as of this postin), but I have been very impressed with the player base thus far. If you have not needed to try it, I must also express my admiration for the customer service on this game. It is second to NONE!!

I certainly hope that it was chocolate chip cookies you were offering, although oatmeal raisin will also work!! :)
