Nope, if you hit successfully the full brunt of the Ele Spell gets through and the Link stays up. Though its pretty rare that this happens. ;)

And yes, Creature handling woul be nice and this is the about umptenth Thread "suggesting" it :D

Taming / creature handling should be a skill . Great idea.
Hell Ryzom is one of the only mmorpg where you can't have pets.

Hmmm not sure if its my lag then but after i pull off a successful Oa+ele combo (eg...fire+root), i find that the mob appears a lil dazed for 1-2 seconds after my link broke lol, giving me enough time to throw in another spell...Anyone else notice this or am i just special LOL :D :D :D

Sorry but thumbs down from me, Dog, Hawk, yubo maybe other Mobs no way, wouldnt want to see somthing like UO with people just setting their Dragons (Kinchers) on each other.

I realise there maybe a number of people missing a taming tree from other games but this isnt another game, I dont think its fits here or is necessary sorry.

*imagines an OP fight with 40 high lvl players each side all releasing their great kincher on each other while thr 40 other low lvl players drag aggro kinchers too so no-one knows the difference*

would be funny tho.................like the first time

Here's how I'd do it.

Retool the 'wands' into being creature handling sticks.

Depending on the stats of the wand your creature's stats are altered, depending on your animal-handling skill shows what level critters you can control.

Pets would be grabbed from the stables and you'd earn XP in your animal handling through what they did.

If you didn't have the stick equipped all they'd do is trail after you like a packer.

Pets would be...

Yubos - help diggers in the area by randomly careplanning for them.
Gingo/Ragus - Combat critters

Others for other things, but keep it fairly basic and not too powerful and have them use up packer/mount slots.

Why would you want pets if you can hire a few mercs for half the price and have the work done anyway? :)

Weel, a few valid reasons:

* pets don't talk or complain about low salaries (heard Zahan complaining about not being able to provide for his family -- something like 17 mistresses and what not--? that beats the kipee scream !)

* pets eat less (seen Jy lately? he's gotten a few extra pounds!).

* pets can be uber and rock (have you seen Rashan wield a pike?)

* pets are cheaper

* pets need not be neutral

sooo.... bring Pets in!!

Humorously,

Damn, I just noticed something decidedly funny and cooool about the Idea of an Ocyx Mount and had the coolest Vision of a new Picture...
Gotta get the old Pencil going again *eG*
Man, I hope I can rip this one off... *laughs*

In a few days you´ll hopefully see the results in the Pictures thread :D

*runs of laughing and brandishing his pencil*
