my character used to be the best i killed a lvl 48 player at lvl 28 in pvp but then i got into ranged its way to hard lost all 200k money i only have 360 dappers couldnt my rifle sucked couldnt kill 11-20 when im 27 in ranged what should i do switch back to melee need help soon before every single piece of sanity gets sucked out of my brain i just hope devs fix the ranged cause its to annoying!!!

It soundds like you were buying ammo?
The NPC stuff is both incredibly expensive and incredibly ineffective.

Crafting your own max damage ammo is necessary if you want to kill anything with a rifle.

Ask some people who go to outpost battles and I think you'll hear ranged can be very effective.

If it's not something you want to do, just go back to melee though. There's no harm in trying new skills and abandoning the ones you don't like.

Ranged needs some love badly, I'll give you that... but until then you have to play ranged tight. Your ammo must match the target you intend to hunt, using ammo a mob resists is going to gimp you quite a bit. You should also be in MA (make your ammo in LA/naked) at least for the additional HP/Def.

Also remember that you can run and gun, this may help you avoid taking as much damage. After you have a good gun, then your ammo is the key. It takes dedication to be a gunner in SoR, it hasn't got the dev's attention in a long while and keeps getting pushed back further because it's not something they can splash on the website. Personally I'd be more excited to see "We finally reworked the ranged tree" across the main site than most of their current "In Development".

well i am not a crafter or harvester im more fighter i just wish it was just buy gun buy ammo end of story and my actions are to strong i lose like 25 health i use it when it doesnt even have a difference of my default attack 44 dmg is my top dmg at lvl 27 and launcher ammo can only be made at lvl 50 its kinda annoying especially when you cant level ranged on island it makes ranged way inferior to everything else and it just makes me want to quit ryzom if everything is so "unbalanced"

Don't be all hostile, I was trying to help - people won't take you seriously if you don't improve things like this.

As for ranged combat - I am sure it will be balanced soon, but I cannot really comment yet, as I am quite new. Anyhow, for myself harvesting and crafting my own ammo sounds just perfect

Yes, my plan is to get good in ranged!

I'd recommend you avoid the launcher until forced to @ lvl 150. It's is a bear ammo wise and takes alot of caution to avoid ADD. Your not doing your homework, crying " I am gonna quit" won't get you as far here as it may at home. Your gonna have to learn a bit more about the game and study up, or maybe it's just too difficult a game for you...
