I hope I´ll find the time to come up with some new ones in the near future.
Grandma left, so someone has to pick up here

Bah, any review that is 2 years old is just so out of date it's not worth mentioning. For example, whatever they've seen of the newbie experience is now moot, because of Ruins of Silan.
I've done an updated review, though it's definitely slanted toward RP potential and whatnot, at the Roleplay Cafe.
I'm the one who wrote the re-review of Ryzom on mmorpg.com. I've been playing since beta and along with it's wonders I'm more than aware of its foibles. I'm glad people are finding the review useful.
The only thing that aggros in the ruins are the goo heads and the gingos. The gingos tend to stay on the far west side, so if you stay on the east, and avoid the grey dots on your radar, you can go to the ruins at any level (pretty much).
In terms of what level things you find in each zone, it breaks down like this:
Hunting grounds/camp area: level 10ish stuff
Ruins area: Level 20ish stuff
Blight area: Level 25ish stuff
Cratcha field/lake area: Level 30ish stuff
Kitin Jungle: Level 35ish to 40ish stuff.
This is obviously not a perfect delineation but it's a rough estimate. You will find materials and creatures of about those levels in those areas.
