sound conflicts
music/mp3/wav
For some unknown reason I cannot for the life of me get the in-game music to play, loading menus or otherwise. I tried using the in-game mp3 player, I see it running my mp3s but don't get any sound. (the in-game sound effects work just fine) I tried running winamp, it runs as stated before but no sound. Tried running windows media player and still no music!! I'v noticed the my system sounds stop working when I run Ryzom. I'v checked my systems sounds and audio device (SB Audigy) and all volume levels are up, and un-muted. I have to restart computer to get my system sounds back. Help! What the heck am I doing wrong??!!
Re: music/mp3/wav
OOC :
It could be that it cannot handle / mix multiple sound inputs to the output.
Try and set Winamp to use DirectSound as output, then it should handle the mixing. Try it and see if you can get sound working.
Do you have the SB Audigy drivers installed, or the whole set of bundled software ?

Re: music/mp3/wav
I did not have the plug-in for Directsound (OUT_DS.DLL), still does not work with Ryzom running. I use use the Audigy sound drivers only, no extra shiza. As I said before all the sound effects work just fine, and I probably cound just play the game that way, But I'd sure like to hear the music in-game and have the option to turn it off,..... (no I don't want a link to download the music) Or be able to play any mp3 from any music player (I tryed Realplayer too) Did I say I could'nt play .wav files also,...the Windows system sound stop working when Ryzom is running.

sound conflicts
When I run Ryzom the game conflicts with .mp3s, .wavs and any other sound format, I can run them on winamp or other player but I get no sound.

Re: sound conflicts
Your system falls below the minimum spec recommended for playing Ryzom. But I would suggest making sure that all component driver for your sound card be installed or updated perhaps. The CPU will be working at maximum just keeping the game going without trying to play music as well. In fact you would probably get some extra frames per second if you disabled sound altogether.

Re: sound conflicts
Check sound setup in the game (config) and that volume is not at zero.
Give directx a look as well.
