Goo?

As a relative noob, I was wondering if anyone could share their experience with the Goo. What does it look like? Do? I haven't seen it or heard anything about it.

Also, check out my review of Ryzom on IGN. I think IGN's review is just horrible.

Goo is purple and it hurts ... and that is about all I know

basicly it is like a big static toxic cloud .. when you walk in it you suffer Goo Damage!! .. but it seems like they didnt get the Effect area exactly matching the ingame goo graphics .. so sometime you will be outside of the goo and will still take goo damage. Other times you can walk around in it and be fine.

I guess there is a way to push back the goo .. and maybe even for the goo to take over atys.

I've seen pics somewhere of people standing around a goo node, which looked like a purpleish blob, and talking about healing it to destroy it.

Don't know if they ever did though.

If you look at the map, all the purple you see on it is goo. Basically it's this purple stuff that is on the ground. There is some purple/pink fog, but as far as I can tell it usually doesn't hurt you. So far as I can tell there is no way to really get rid of it and there is no armor to protect against it. Only protection is not to step on it.

There are some areas where the goo mists are also toxic but not nearly as deadly as stepping in the goo (there are also some areas where the goo is not as toxic or is not toxic at all). However, as Raynes noted, the best bet is to avoid it whenever possible.

The goo is definately not fully implemented and we have no idea when it will be. It is an infection which can be spread. Right now all we have are the goo lands where the infection is at most heavily and all it has is a dot.

The damage over time varies a lot in place to place.

There was even one very distant and hard to get to place. I thought I saw something like a green land in the distance on the other side of it. So I started to run through with full health. At almost 1k HP it almost killed me instantly and was hitting for about 100 damage a tick. I barely made it out on time.

Does invulnerability work on the goo? because I'm going to go back there again at some point.
