Development Priorities

Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

What should be the first priority for new development in Ryzom?

Development Priorities

If you had your way, what would you have the developers work on as first priority?

More Drama, LOL.

There is so much I would love to see better, hmmm. I would have them make the living world a persistent living world, so that boss mobs, and supremes do not reset on a patch or server downtime.

Second, I would make the system a bit more dynamic around the same.

Third, I would make better use of migrations, etc.

Fourth, much more use of the RAID engine that is so touted. Actually, on second thought, make that first.

My order of priority would be...

1. Missing ritual tasks and more rituals.
2. More or different outposts.
3. Bug fixes (Becomes number one if it's the temp inventory bug or restoring neutral access to town teleports. :P )
4. Goo creatures.
5. Fine tuning PvP combat skills (With application to PvE as well)
6. Ryzom Ring Modules.
7. Other - RP props, clothing, interactive surroundings and a host of other things I often bang on about.
8. Absolutely anything else at all including bringing in ladybirds as a player race or adding a million subtly different styles of straw hat to the game.
Google-Plex. Spires.

Oh, and additional options and thingies for R2 would be in at about 1.5

I voted "other"

Simply, I want to see more frequent, varied, and longer duration raid events.

The closest any of these are to appealing to me (which make the vote slanted towards only your points, however good it's your list) is bug fixes. A wishlist is nice but we need to have so many things currently in game looked at that I shudder to think of what else will be added while the buglist remains so long.

Not to mention skilltree passes for ranged weapons, 1h weapons, crafting probabilities & results, bugged mobs (jugula anyone ?) etc etc...

As far as all the upcoming additions, I would give them all up to expand the lands... The "Saga" was supposed to be 8 years and multiple levels... 2 years in and we have the same lands (plus small skirmish maps from EP2, and RoS) that we had when the game was released.

Having been here since beta I have done all I want to do here, nothing more for me to see and explore. The one skill I am still interested in leveling needs some love to make it less grueling. I see full well what some of those returning say and agree with most points.

I look at the 2 big games that I chose SoR over and they have had expansions, skills passes, bugfixes and content updates fairly often... We have seen few content upgrades (some of these things should have been released with the game and caused the community division we all suffered). Though they are trying to make the gameplay widen, it is not moving forward.

Most can enjoy the community they missed from this game enough to come back and see us again... Others come back and see little different then when they left a year ago.

Polls like this lean towards the things the OP feel are most important and provide little meat for the Dev's to chew on as we all have our own list.

With bug fixes on the list, that's the only thing I can vote for. It's the obvious answer.

New lands, people, mobs! The Canopy/Core, black Matis, etc.

Difficult PvE goals! Penetrate kitin hordes to reach new areas.
Battle new tribes to recover more powerful weapons/skills. A
challenge rather than a grind.

Jena! If we are to battle, let it be under the leadership of the
principals. New weapons! Machine guns, plasma cannons.
Let's have a war for real.
