Karavaneer Desert Legion: Officer's Log. Year 2527.
Day 1, morning.
The Karavan ordered us to hunt down 'Dune Stalkers,' a vagabond tribe of cutthroats and thieves living out in the desert. Calypsako and I set out to find and kill them. On the way, we were greeted by a Karavan Matis who had heard of the Legion. She was generous enough to grant us Catalysers, strange and magical crystals which enhanced the brain's learning process.
Day 1, Afternoon.
We were able to successfully kill the Dune Stalkers. The Karavan were pleased with our performance, and suggested we take another mission. They wanted us to scout out 'Barkgully Workshop," a small camp about four days march to the west. They mentioned Kitin.

Day 3 of recon mission.
We've been marching through the Imperial Dunes for three days now. The desert winds are harsh, but the breathing mechanism on our helmets make it much more bearable. Our destination is Barkgully Workshop, an out-of-the-way camp currently held by the Leviers tribe. The Karavan to the south of Pyr requested that we scout out the area and report back any results. They seem very concerned about Kitin activity. The Kitin.... such loatheful creatures. No sense of individuality, no sense of self-preservation, just a single minded goal: To further their hive and expand their population. Their population in the Imperial Dunes is unnerving, to be sure, though the only Kitin we have encountered are Kipee and Goari. The Kipee are rather docile, and ignore us, they seem to be burrowers and workers. The Goari, on the other hand, have shown us extreme hostility. They have mutated and evolved over the years, and have the ability to channel an electrical force through a strange orb that hangs above their head. The result is a surge of lightning that can easily kill or paralyze most creatures, even homins. A clever hunting technique, to be sure. Luckily, a well aimed rifle shot can bring these beasts down quickly and efficiently, as they lack the hard carapace of Kipees.
Day 4 of recon mission.
We've reached Barkgully Workshop. The Leviers have almost completely deserted the area, and there is a disturbing amount of Kitin surrounding the workshop, threatening all inside. The Leviers met us with extreme hostility. Kami lies do wonders to divide the Homin, it is a shame more Fyros are not enlightened as we are. After leaving the Workshop, we planned to rest by the nearby Oasis. We were met with disaster. As we were crossing the valley, a monstrous Kipee burst from the ground underneath the feet of Zhulaen. Out of shock, he fell backwards, pulled his pistol from his holster, and emptied three rounds into it. This only angered the beast, the bullets simply bounced off of its armoured hide. Our Shaman, Calypsako, immediately reacted to this, attempting to raise roots from the ground to keep it away from Zhulaen. The creature ripped through the roots with ease, and impaled Zhulaen straight through his heavy armour as if it was parchment, bellowed a roar, and lifted him up at least six feet into the air. I drew my sword and rushed the creature, lopped off the stabber that had impaled Zhulaen, and pulled him away from the enraged beast. Garraeth drew the creature away from us with distracting rifle fire, and Calypsako conflagerated it with his magic. The Kipee finally died, roaring in agony as its flaming body collapsed under the heat. I pulled off Zhulaen's helmet. He was bleeding from the mouth, and the stabber was still through his chest, blood gushing from the wound. I assured him that the Karavan would be able to save him, although in this condition, I had my doubts. We tied him to the back of our Mektoub packer, and gave him anesthetic. We needed to get back to the Karavan camp to ensure Zhulaen's survival, and I'll be damned if I let such a soldier die to something as hateful as the Kitin.
