How do you get your fame up???vguerin wrote:More important than dappers for your trek, you should work your fame up enough to get as many tickets along the way as you can. It will prevent you having to do another trek later to get the TP tickets

Re: Help need a trekk!!
Main method: Missions. If you do a mission for a Karavan ambassador or TP operator, your Karavan fame will go up and your Kami fame will drop. If you do missions for someone that is allied to the Kami (like the Zorai, for example), you'll also get some Kami fame and lose some Karavan fame. Doing missions for the Kami/Kara directly is faster than doing them indirectly by doing missions for allies. Doing bandit hunt missions seem to be the most efficient way to gain fame.mikehh9 wrote:How do you get your fame up???
Also, if you kill tribes that are allied to one side, you may get fame from the other side and lose fame from their allies. But I think that only works if you are low enough level to get xp from killing those tribes. So, picking on lowbie tribes with high level skills won't get you any fame.
Lastly, you can attack the temple guards of the opposing side. But, they're tough, so bring a strong team.

Re: Help need a trekk!!
That have been changed recently, you can now gain kami fame without a drop in karavan fame (and reverse).oldmess wrote:Main method: Missions. If you do a mission for a Karavan ambassador or TP operator, your Karavan fame will go up and your Kami fame will drop.
If you want to gain fame besides the kami/karavan and civs, it is a good idea to read the lore as it will show who are on "your side" and who isn't.
Some tribes only give fame to themselves and a gain/drop in kami and karavan. Other affect a wide range of other tribes (all shown in your sys.info). There are clues if you go to the tribes main camp, NPCs in the wild only show race and tribe name (in some of the mission headers and text).
It is also a good idea to try as many mission givers as possibly, that way you can do organised "fame runs". And most importantly you are able to grab missions on your way to something else.
SPOILER!
There is a reason why you use the Haven of Purity teleporter, and run north instead of through the outpost. You have the option of doing up to 4 missions for Company of the eternal tree in less than 5 minutes, gaining CET and kami fame (all the way up to 100) and loosing some karavan.
There is an even better fame run there, but I will let the curious find that out on their own.

Re: Help need a trekk!!
I thought I read somewhere that they changed this in one of the recent patches so that you don't get fame for killing the guards anymore? Am I mistaken?oldmess wrote:Lastly, you can attack the temple guards of the opposing side. But, they're tough, so bring a strong team.
Spot on about the bandit missions though, they are the ones that give the best fame hikes. The ambassador missions also give good fame. I recently raised one of my racial fame levels just by doing 2 ambassador missions repeatedly.
A lot of the mission givers have missions that are relatively easy to complete as you travel around. If you find these missions through experimentation, then get into the habit of taking them each time you pass the giver, you can steadily build up your fame. That's what I did with the ambassador, picked up 2 missions (1 to deliver a message, the other to go to a specific location), each time I went to Pyr.
One thing to bear in mind, to be able to take the missions again, you have to remove it from your task list then wait for it to reactivate (4 hours IIRC). The reactivate timer doesn't start until you click the finished button on the task to remove it.

For Civilization Fame I have found that doing the Defeat bandit Missions from the City Welcomer and the 3 Corporals in the Capitol Cities works best, IMO. There is about 10ish missions from the 4 contacts and I average about 8 points of Fame each run for that Civilization. (and yes there are 3 corporals in each capitol city )

You might gain fame kiiling temple guards but they cannot be attacked anymore,) On another side, they will attack you and they can kill you unpunished with same force as before.philu wrote:I thought I read somewhere that they changed this in one of the recent patches so that you don't get fame for killing the guards anymore?
