Crystalize???
Crystalize???
Can anyone tell me what this does? I was messing around and "right clicked" on my "root 3" spell" when I saw crystalize I clicked it and made the crystal which dropped in my inventory. So then I "right clicked" on the crystal and it said something like "add to right hand" so I did and it added it to my "Fire and Ice" sword. After fighting some more and (if anything) seeing less damage I decided to try the same thing with my "Acid 4" spell. It really looks like to me that I am hitting for a lot less now. Is this correct? If so, is there some way to remove it? Thanks

No, you're stuck with an enchanted weapon now, sorry 
Hehe, don't worry about it - it has absolutely no effect on normal usage. What you can do now, if you choose to, is charge your sword up with Sap crystals and then the Use Enchantment button on your handbar will become active. Try that
You'll need to learn how to make sap crystals - magic trainer - or find somene that can make them for you, and charge the sword the same way that you enchanted it.

Crystallising a spell allows you to 'enchant' your weapon. The enchantment won't affect your damage or anything on the weapon, but will allow you to instant-cast whichever spell you put on the weapon. There is a spell called "Make Sap Crystal" or something similar which will enable you to make 'recharge' crystals for the weapon's enchantment. If you go into Action Progression and click on any of the first four boxes (Fight / Harvest / Magic / Craft) then in the right-hand side you should find an action called "Use Item Enchantment". Drag this to one of your hotbars and if you have for example an Acid 4 spell on your weapon, if you have recharged your enchantment with sap crystals, you will be able to instantly cast acid 4 on the targeted critter.
Enchantments are mostly used for healing spells, left dormant until an emergency heal is needed on a teammate! Other uses though, include using a low-lvl magic spell (like Acid 1) for 'pulling' critters without using the Taunt action.

Crystallising spells is the way you enchant weapons - the process is:
1) Take the spell you wish to enchant, right click -> crystallise. You now have the spell crystal.
2) Find the spell crystal in your inventory and right click -> Enchant right hand. Now the weapon in your right hand will be enchanted with the spell. You can see a little crystal in the top left of the weapon icon with a number next to it (will be 0 atm) and if you look at the info of the weapon, the spell enchant will be shown at the bottom.
3) Once you have learnt "Make sap crystal" from the magic trainer, you can use it to make sap crystals. Once you have a sap crystal, find it in your inventory and right click -> recharge right hand. Once you have done this you will get a message about the sap charge in the weapon being changed.
4) To use the enchant, once the number next to the crystal on the icon is 1 or more, target the entity you want to cast on and use the "Use item enchantment" skill that you will have started with. If you've already removed it, you can find it in your action progression trees and drag it to the hands bar. Using this skill will cast the enchantment.
Notes:
Enchantments only cast when you use the skill.
Enchantments need sap charge to cast; the weapon's sap load determines how many shots you get on a "fully charged" weapon
As well as sap charge, they use up your sap/hp depending on which credits the spell has on it
Time credits do not affect enchantments - all enchants are "instant cast" so put the biggest time credit you have on your enchants.
Range credits do affect enchants - up to you whether you want them or not, but since action penalty still applies, think carefully about whether you're enchanting an amp (and so will be in light armour so no action penalty) or a melee weapon and will be in heavy armour (so a big action penalty)
Enchants cannot be removed, but as you've already found, you can "overwrite" them
As for the weapon doing less damage, the enchant should not affect that at all - there's a few reasons why your damage will have gone down; mostly to do with the levels of you, your weap, the stanzas you're using, and the stuff you're killing. If you've "outgrown" your weapon you'll start doing less damage.

One last note. You cannot enchant a weapon with a spell that is higher level than the weapon.
For Example: If you have a Q60 Sword, you cannot enchant it with a Level 125 Poison spell.
As a note also, Enchanting your weapon with a heal can be very useful, and saves the day quite often.

Yep, or at least from what I've seen. Put on a large time credit and you can't recast for ages, use non and you can recast almost instantly.marct wrote:Is this true, I just thought this was turn based or somehting to that affect.
