Quick question : Where to harvest Counterweights QL30-35 in NEwbie island?

I have managed to find everything else I need, mostly on the small isle to the north west. But I cannot find counterweights.

I need QL 30 or 35 that are not in the jungle. I tried prospecting everywhere on the small island to no avail. And I don't have the points for the tracking skill.

Any tip would be welcome.

This is counterweight stuff of max QL 35 on the small island in Shining Lake, but good luck getting it, as it is all mixed in with the plant parts from that one quest, and wood, and some other stuff.

The jungle's really going to be your best bet for things 30 and up. You don't really need to fear it. Most of the kitins are not aggressive... only the Kipestas. Now, those are dangerous, but if you hug the wall coming out of the tunnel, you should be able to find some counterweight material (Q45 max) along the wall, a bit to the left of the entrance (as you enter the jungle).

Any chance you remember if you found it more south or more east or north of the Shining Lake island? Any landmark that might help?

I believe I found it on the north side. But again, harvesting there almost always gave me plant materials... I eventually quit trying to harvest anything from that island because it was such a waste of time.

I advise using the jungle. If you stick to the south wall you should be safe. I harvested there repeatedly, and the Kipestas don't generally come over there.

I took your advice and am glad I did. Plus I just got Harmful 40 so the island wasn't always good QL enough.

Now to find the fiber and Wood node spots! Yay!
