Made it!

Well, after much patience, work and focus on achieving some self-imposed goals beforehand, I've "left the nest" and am on the Mainland! (woot! :-p )

Here's a great shot that I took soon after arriving, as sort of a memento (Yes, I keep a "photo-log" of my progress through games. I'm wierd like that, what can I tell ya? O.o)

My initial impressions of Yrkanis? Huge. Confusing. Different. And quite beautiful - as that screenshot well illustrates, IMO. The whole butterfly wing light deco is a very cool touch. I wish there were places that interesting to visit in real life :-p

So! I am now ready to move on and am very interested in joining a Guild (I'll post more about that in the Guild forum, of course :-p )...

lol... I know I make it sound like a big deal... That was mostly "theater".. but it is a cool step in the game, nonetheless..

I'm 30 Offensive Mage; 32 Crafter (mainly light armor, but also can make Bottoni Staves (magic amplifiers) and am starting on Jewelry) and 27 Fighter (I believe).

I could have left alot sooner, but I set the goal for myself of getting Mage to at least 30 and racking up at least 100k dapper.. After a few set-backs in money, I finally made it over tonight.

So there ya go

Welcome to the mainland. It IS a big step. It's something new and exciting. Enjoy it.

AND:

take your time. A lot of the problems in the game don't really become obvious till about 70+ right now, except for Lakelands. You should be ok in the forest.

Don't be afraid to solo, cause it will NOT affect your equipment as badly as groups.

That shouldn't be a problem. It took me over a week to get off the starter island. I've tried to burn through MMOGs in the past and it's always resulted in me tiring of them. Soo.. I've learned to just take my time and enjoy as much as I can along the way.
